Parsha Ki Teitsei teaches numerous Mitzvot such as; returning lost items to their rightful owners, loaning money to one’s fellow Jew free from interest, what one is permitted to or prohibited from taking from another Jew as loan security, Shatnes (wool and linen together), Tzitzit, and dealing fairly and truthfully with one’s fellow Jews in business. The Maftir Aliyah of our Parsha tells us collectively to remember, for all time, the actions of Amalek who attacked B’nai Yisrael when they were weak while blotting the rememberance of Amalek from the earth.
Ya’alon: Israeli Elites, ‘Peace Now’ Harmful “Viruses”
Both the Jerusalem Post and Israel National News are reporting that Vice Premier and Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya’alon apparently spoke recently likening ‘Peace Now’ and Israeli elitists to “viruses” and expressing support for the positions of Moshe Feiglin and Manhigut Yehudit:
Speaking in a closed meeting organized by Feiglin for Manhigut Yehudit members this week, Ya’alon openly expressed his fears that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu might succumb to the Left.

Parsha Shoftim 5769: Israeli Governance: Justice in Judgement, or Subversion Thereof?
The third posuk of our Parsha reads;
“Tzedek, Tzedek tierdof…” Righteousness, righteousness (also rendered Justice, Justice) you shall pursue that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord, your G’d gives you.” (Sefer Devarim, Perek 16, posuk 20)
This posuk follows immediately after the opening of our Parsha in which Moshe Rabbeinu urges the B’nai Yisrael;
“Judges and officers shall you appoint in all of your cities — which Hashem …gives you — for your tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgement. You shall not pervert judgement, you shall not respect persons, neither take a bribe, for a bribe binds the eyes of the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous.” (Sefer Devarim, Perek 16, p’sukim 18-19)

Commentary:
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu recently promised not to repeat the “mistake” of 2005’s expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif and the 4 Shomron Towns. Israel National News reports:
Promising not to surrender communities in Judea and Samaria to the Palestinian Authority, the Prime Minister said there will be no unilateral expulsions.
But one must wonder, for a change, whether Netanyahu speaketh with forked tongue. For Israel National News also reports that his own Justice Minister Yaakov Ne’eman, head of the committee which selects Judges for the High Court, appears to be party to a “deal” to facilitate appointment of a leftist, pro-Expulsion judge to Israel’s Supreme Court:
