Amona Probe Aims to Draw Conclusions by Elections

Full Text;

“Right wing figures said on Thursday that the parliamentary investigative committee set up on Wednesday to look into the violence in Amona last week would aim to present their conclusions before the March 28 elections.”

“Such a deadline appeared quite unusual as this type of committee generally functions for years before any conclusions are drawn, Army Radio reported.”

“If the probe does not complete its work by the elections, it would have to be re-formed by the new government that will be sworn in.” read more

Olmert Parody on Barak: “I Will Do Everything…” [To Hold Power?]

.
Commentary;

Defense Minister Ehud Barak keeps saying things like “I will do everything to bring him [Gilad Shalit] back” or “Israel would do everything in its power to see the safe return of captured Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit.” It is highly questionable what the limits of that “everything” are. For instance, does everything include liberation by military means?

Meanwhile, we have watched Barak’s coalition partner prime minister Ehud Olmert complete his 2 year charade concerning deceased IDF soldiers Regev and Goldwasser which, as Evelyn Gordon seems to indicate in her commentary below; read more

PM Olmert: Admit Damage You’ve Done to Israel and Resign

.

Hat tip to Manhigut Yehudit for picture.

Commentary;

Ehud Olmert has done devastating damage to the nation of Israel and yet struts around struts around extolling the virtues of the disaster which he and his other stooges; Livni, Peretz, Halutz, etc., and Arik Sharon before him, set in motion beginning with the Expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif, the police riot in Amona, the kidnapping of the three young soldiers, the Lebanon conflict and the constant terror of Sderot and the Negev from Gaza. read more

Etrogization: Israel’s Newest Political Institution

.

Commentary;

Etrogization has become more than political strategy, it has become political institution in Israel. When in trouble; with the police, the attorney general, the state comptroller, a commission of investigation of a poorly fought, poorly managed war, and more — all breathing down your throat, it’s no time for biting the bullet, for taking your medicine, for doin’ your time. It’s no time for facing true justice.

When in heap big trouble, coddle up to those with the power to pursue or quash any investigation — the Left, who controls all bureaucracy, all media and all institutions in Israel. read more

Will US Citizens Witnessing Security Briefings from Israeli Officials be Called to Testify by Winograd panel?

Israel Forms Panel To Examine ‘Ill Preparedness’ By David Bedein (The Evening Bulletin)

“‘Olmert pounded on the podium and exhorted his questioner to examine ‘Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon as a model which Israel would apply to Gaza and Samaria.’ Although Hezbollah terrorists had stationed 15,000 missiles and mortars in Lebanon, Olmert proclaimed that ‘they have never, never, never used missiles against Israel on the northern border since Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon in May 2000.'” read more

State Controller Can Blow Olmert’s Attempts to Deflect Responsibility Out of Water…

War Committee to Begin Probe Monday By Herb Keinon (Jerusalem Post)

Excerpts;

The Winograd Committee, created to probe the war in Lebanon, is expected to start its work on Monday, following a tortuous route, whereby it took almost as long for the government to set up a committee to investigate the war as it did to fight the war itself.

The cabinet on Sunday approved the establishment of the Winograd Governmental Investigative Committee by a vote of 20-2, with Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) abstaining. read more

Israel’s Existence Gravely Endangered by Political and Military Elites…

The Commission of Inquiry’s Conclusions, By Moshe Feiglin (Israel National News)

Commentary;

This author is a long-time and devoted supporter of Moshe Feiglin and Manhigut Yehudit. This blog has had numerous posts endorsing Moshe, Manhigut Yehudit and it’s positions on various issues.

Lest anyone have any doubts, this dissent is expressed out of unity and out of support for the goals Manhigut Yehudit has put forth, “to make Israel the authentic Jewish homeland… — an Israel motivated and governed by Jewish values and love for every Jew.” read more

Investigative Report by David Bedein; “Amona”: What Really Transpired – Call for Commission of Investigation

Commentary;

And just like all other “Israeli Commissions of Investigation” formed in the past, it will probably be one of stone-walling, whitewashing and skewing in favor of the Regime. Just like the commissions after the Yom Kippur War, after the Sabra and Shatilla Camps, after the shootings at Ma’arat Hamachpela in the early 1990s, after the Rabin Assassination, about illegal kidnapping by the Regime of the time of S’fardi infants in the hospital and on and on, Justice is never done, truth is never served by all of these so-called Blue Ribbon Israeli Commissions of Investigation. The perpetrators never pay the price and go free to up the ante, to do still greater sins with total immunity from the people scrutiny. MB read more

“Disengagement” Authority Still Covering Up Abuse of Evicted Former Gush Katif Residents

.
Commentary:

The State Commission of Inquiry formed to probe the treatment of “evacuees” has begun hearing testimony. This blog has referred and will continue to refer to the former Gush Katif residents by the more accurate terms, the expelled, the evicted, the former Gush Katif residents, rather than the regime politically correct term of “evacuees from the disengagement” because what happened in Gush Katif in August, 2005 was NOT a disengagement and the former residents were NOT “evacuated”, i.e. “evacuated from danger.” The people of Gush Katif had made homes, communities, had built businesses, society, communal and religious life there and had made a disaster area BLOOM. read more
