Parsha Va’era 5766: Relating to the “Center” in Israel
By Moshe Burt

At the conclusion of Parsha Shemos, Moshe and Aaron are confronted, upon exiting Pharoh’s Palace, by the B’nai Yisrael who are in deeper despair than before because of the increased workload which resulted from Pharoh’s fury at Moshe’s first effort to secure their freedom and exit from Mitzrayim.

Our Parsha begins with the dialogue which Moshe Rebbeinu has with Hashem prior to again speaking to the B’nai Yisrael. And so, after Hashem rebukes Moshe for his complaint and reassures him that redemption is at hand, Moshe again addresses the B’nai Yisrael as to his meeting with Pharoh. read more

What’s at Stake in Hebron, by David Wilder

Sharon to Remain Part of Kadima Campaign

Full Text;

“Kadima leaders are unwilling to change the party election slogan and they will continue with “Kadima [moving forward] with Sharon,” despite the prime minister remaining comatose, on a respirator in a Jerusalem hospital.”

“Kadima leaders realize Sharon’s affiliation with the party is an electoral plus, as reflected in the polls. Kadima officials have tried to place Sharon at the end of the lineup list, as a symbolic gesture, but that plan was abandoned when election officials explained the candidate himself must sign the registration form. Mr. Sharon is not capable of signing his name at present. read more

Use of Terminology: Update and Commentary on The Attempt to Expell Jews from Mitzpe Shalhevet, Chevron, From Neighborhoods …

“War on Outposts” Update

Commentary;

This author has begun to emphasize the use of different terminology from that which the Sharon/Olmert Regime use to de-humanize and demonize the Jews in keeping with a recent post to this blog based on an email from a friend.

Today’s lesson is what the vilification terms “Outpost”, “Settlement”, “Encampment” actually denote. If a new section is built in Ramat Beit Shemesh or Jerusalem, Tel Aviv or Rechovot, it is called a neighborhood (a “Givah’ or “Givat”) A new Yishuv is established and built, it is called a village or town. read more

Parsha HaShevua: Shemos 5766

From Tapuach West, to Gush Katif, to Chevron and Elsewhere; “Surely this thing is known.”

By Moshe Burt

Two years ago, as we leyned Parsha Shemos, we witnessed the run-up to the cruel and brutal destruction of the Shul in Tapuach West by the Sharon government.

And because we didn’t then heed the lessons of Parsha Shemos and continued in our collective divisive ways rather than uniting, the Sharon government announced, on the heels of Tapuach West, its intent to expell Jews from parts of Eretz Yisrael; from Gaza and parts of the Shomron. read more
