In view of Olmert’s demand to recognize Israel as a Jewish State, this author believes that the deliberate omission of the flag of Israel from proximity of Annapolis needs to hammered home to Israelis again and again and again!
Further, a contact in Washington informs me that, unlike the Arabs who are very high profile and readily available throughout D.C. and Annapolis, the Israelis “are all here in Annapolis…, spread throughout the city.”

MK Eitan: Any Annapolis Deal Should Specify: ‘Pending Knesset Approval’ (Jerusalem Post)

MK Michael Eitan (Likud) asked Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz to inform the prime minister that if he signs any agreement at the Annapolis conference he must add a clause stating that the deal is pending Knesset approval, Israel Radio reported Sunday night.
Eitan said that according to Mazuz, without such a clause, Israel would be committed to any agreement signed at the conference, irrespective of the Knesset’s position.

Two years ago, just before Chanukah, a short article appeared on the INN website entitled; “Mortar Shells Filled With Chanukah Light” told about the Menorah made from some of the spent Islamic mortal shells which were launched on Neve Dekalim over the years.
Reading about this special Menorah which was lit at one of the Jerusalem hotels which temporarily housed many former Neve Dekalim residents, took me back in time to Philadelphia, in “the “old country” and to a point made by Rav Yehoshua Kaganoff about the pit in which Yaakov was thrown. The point bears repeating.

This author has just finished learning Gemara Sanhedrin Chapter 11 — Cheilik, that is; to learn who is worthy of Olam Habah, who is not and who goes from this world to Gehennom for their deeds.
The final Mishna cited in Perek Cheilek deals with the Subverted or Seduced City (Ir HaNidachas). This Mishna takes up the last two pages of the chapter 11. And without going into specific cases regarding witnesses, exact circumstances, whether the subverters were defined by halacha as citizens of the city or outsiders, ownership of property or possessions which resided either inside or outside of the city, the Mishna parallels posukim in Wikepedia’s rendering of the pertinent posukim of Parsha Re’eh;

Foreign Minister Tzipy Livni claims that the entire world accepts Israeli stance and;
…senior diplomatic officials estimate that the Americans will back the Israeli perception, as it has been presented over the past month and a half in which Livni has been heading the negotiations.
But then again, Livni and the entire Israeli foreign ministry, after years under tutelege of Peres, Sylvan Shalom and now Livni, are now collectively diplomatic underweights and neophites.

Commentary;
Israel’s Attorney General Menahem Mazuz uttered words we all have known and felt, perhaps as far back as the March, 2006 elections, but for sure since the various police investigations of Olmert began.
What is truly scary is the spectre of a Prime Minister, beset by the impending final Winograd Report on the Lebanon conflict frought with its inherent or implied Prime Ministerial responsibility for failure and the various criminal investigations and possible impending police-endorsed indictment(s), giving away the store — Jerusalem partition, Yehuda and Shomron, 1947 partition lines, the Golan, etc. to save himself — the people he governs be damned.
