The Case of Yechezkel Chazani’s Burial

This is a story which just has to be told. I have been following this story since the untimely, unfortunate death of Yechezkel Chazani’s just before Yom Kippur.

On 12 October, 2005, Toby Klein Greenwald wrote Report #10: State of Evicted Residents of Gush Katif, Northern Gaza and Northern Shomron Communities; Victim of Disengagement: 30,000 IS to bury him “because he doesn’t live here.”

As a follow-up, I received the forwarded email below just after Yom Tov. As the email was forwarded to me, I am now putting it out for readers of this blog to review and act on. I am removing the sender’s names for their own security and protection. If there is anyone interested in helping, please contact me for contact information. read more

Leave Lili Alone

The article Leave Lili Alone drives home the fact that a caste society exists in Israel; for Leftist effetes there is total democracy and for their opponents for which there is a police state. The current crop of corrupt, self-interested, agendized politicians have cast the Religious in total negative, sub-human terms. Why should Arik Sharon and his deceased wife be any more privileged than the 10,000 Jews he evicted at legalized gunpoint and now taunts and mistreats by withholding the compensation that they are entitled to? And why should his deceased wife be any more privileged than the deceased Gush Katif residents which he hard-heartedly uprooted from their graves? Leaders lead by example and the current prime minister is a poor example of a national leader! read more

Withstanding and Defying a Gezeira Rah

I followed up the previous word of Torah with the following;

Withstanding and Defying a Gezeira Rah
By Moshe Burt

I wrote previously regarding the contrast between the story behind the Unesaneh Tokef tefillah (expressing the seriousness of the day): the Gezeira Rah (evil decree) faced by R’ Amnon of Mainz and his Kehilla of forced conversion to Christianity dating back about 1,000 years, and the Gezeira Rah that we are currently living through regarding the forced expulsion of Jews from divinely ordained Jewish Land and handing that land over to avowed enemies bent on the eradication of the Jewish people. As previously stated, the Unesaneh Tokef tefillah is recited on both days of Rosh Hashana and on Yom Kippur. read more

“Dad, What’s a Killer-meter?”

.
Received the email below from Lema’an Achai’s David Morris;

“Dad, What’s a Killer-meter?”

Here in Israel, innocent sounding measurements of distance, have turned into death threats.

  • One killermeter (km) is the distance/range from a Hamas Sniper in the Gaza strip, firing at the Israeli farmer working in the fields of
    Kibbutz Nahal Oz.
  • 2 km is from the Hamas mortars (“Patzmarim”) to Israeli families in the town of Sderot (time of flight/warning to take cover: 15 seconds).
  • 8 km is from the Hamas rocket launchers (“Kassamim”) to the 110,000 battered residents of the City of Ashkelon
  • 20 km is from the Hamas missile launchers (“Ketushas”) to the Town of Kiryat Malachi
  • 40 km is from the Hamas enhanced missiles (“Gradim”) to the bunkered-down towns of Ashdod, Beersheba and Kiryat Gat (one minute warning, to take cover or be blown up)
  • 44 km is where a “Grad’ Missile has to reach, to hit my home, the kids’ school, our shul – to hit me at this desk, here in Bet Shemesh.

My home is located a half-liter of rocket-fuel away from the bombed
out sites throughout the South of Israel.

It puts our community in the position of being close enough to be
fearful that “we’re next”, while giving us the tremendous opportunity
to bring help to our brothers and sisters now under missile-fire, who
are living in bomb shelters, or risking their very lives to go out to
get a bottle of milk….just a five minute drive from us. read more

For context on this report, click here and here.

Poll: 30% of Israel Support Refusing Pullout Orders

Full Text;

According to a poll conducted by Ha’aretz, 30% of the Jewish public in Israel support IDF soldiers’ refusing any orders related to the expulsion of Jews from their homes.

Earlier this week, soldiers of the Duchifat Brigade refused to take part in the expulsion of two Jewish families from the former marketplace in Hevron.

The Yesha Rabbis’ Council of Judea and Samaria issued a statement of support for the IDF soldiers who refused to take part in the eviction. “We bless the Israeli soldiers who obeyed the command of their Jewish hearts and did not take part in the expulsion.” read more

A Government of Israel Devoid of Jewish Moral Ethics is Devoid of Credibility As Well…

Squandering the Country’s Credibility By Evelyn Gordon (Jerusalem Post)

“The bottom line: Construction on permanent housing has yet to begin in even one of the 18 locations earmarked for resettling evacuees.”

“Having evicted these families from their homes to serve its own policies, the government has an ethical obligation to at least keep its promises on resettlement.”

“The government has virtually guaranteed that any future evacuation will meet with far fiercer resistance than the Gaza pullout did. Because if you are going to be a homeless refugee regardless of whether you cooperate or resist, why would anyone choose to cooperate?” read more

Back to the Past: Jews Running Scared from S’derot Like Generations in Chutz L’Aretz? Is S’derot, the Negev on Olmert’s Chopping Block?

Commentary #1

These stories may not seem related, but just maybe they are. Something to think about? Could this be what when former NSC Chairman Major General Giora Eiland had in mind in suggesting to ” … Compensate Egypt with 150 square kilometers in the southern Negev …”?

BBC: Gaza Rockets Real Threat to Israel

Get The Kids Out of Sderot

Excerpt;

I’m sure the Education Ministry, together with a bit of the volunteering spirit that has yet to completely disappear from Israeli society, could help organize a much calmer summer for hundreds of kids than the one they are expecting. The “message” of such a plan would not be to flex our national muscles. Rather, it would show simple, human and obvious concern for the welfare of children who see through the lies that “we are doing our best” as they continue to shake with fear. read more

Police Back Off for Left: Dual Standards of Law Enforcement/”Justice”; One for Peace Now, vs Right?

Police Permit Peace Now Buses to Continue Towards Maon

Full Text;

Police a short time ago have permitted two buses carrying left-wing Peace Now activists to head towards Maon in the Hevron Hills.

Earlier on Friday morning, police stopped the buses at Gush Etzion Junction, north of Hevron, explaining they do not intend to permit the buses to make their way to Maon where the activists wish to protest the Jewish presence.

After being detained at Gush Junction for a period of time, the buses were permitted to continue on their way. read more
