Is This What It’s Like to “Mend the Rift Within Our People”??

Nationalist Camp Loyalists Arrested, Detained, and More, By Hillel Fendel (Israel National News)

Excerpts;

Ehud Olmert spoke often of the need for post-Disengagement “internal reconciliation” with the pro-Land of Israel public. His gov’t is now busy arresting many of that public’s most active members.

A large ad published in Haaretz in early August 2005, just before the Disengagement from Gush Katif and northern Shomron, proclaimed that a campaign had begun to promote “mending the rift within our people” the day after the expulsion. read more

ADL Slams MK Effie Eitam’s Statements on Transfer of Arabs

Full Text;

The US-based Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has issued a condemnation of Knesset Member Effie Eitam (National Union-NRP) following Eitam’s call for the transfer of Arabs from Judea and Samaria and removal of Israeli-Arab Knesset members.

“Such inflammatory statements are irresponsible and display an ugly and abhorrent bigotry against other peoples and leads to incitement,” the ADL statement said. “Calls by public figures to ban minorities and expel them from their homes are abhorrent. These are irresponsible statements advocating collective measures that the ADL totally rejects.” read more

IDF: Soldiers Were Wounded Before Kidnapping

Full Text;

IDF reservists Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser were wounded by an explosive on their army vehicle before they were kidnapped July 12, according to a military report. Their conclusion is based on findings at the site where Hizbullah abducted the two soldiers at the outset of the terrorist war on the north.

Officers concluded that the two soldiers are alive. The report was completed three weeks ago but was not submitted to the government until after the United Nations Security Council ceasefire resolution was announced. The resolution includes a non-binding clause calling for the release of the soldiers. read more

Parsha Nitzavim 5766: Unity — Hashem’s Covenant with Klal Yisrael …

Parsha Nitzavim 5766: Unity — Hashem’s Covenant with Klal Yisrael …

By Moshe Burt

Parsha Nitzavim begins; “Atem Nitzavim HaYom…Today you are standing before Hashem, your Lord… You are thus being brought into the covenant of Hashem, your Lord, and [accepting] the dread oath that He is making with you today. He has established you as his nation, so that He will be a G’d to you…” (Devarim, Perek 29, posukim 9-12)

L’l Mode U’Lamed comments on these first few p’sukim of Nitzavim noting; “that all members of Klal Yisrael, from the greatest of leaders to the simplest woodcutter, stood together as equals before Hashem…. Thus the poor woodcutter who is devout in his ways and who raises his children as true Jews is elevated to the same level as the wealthy supporter of Jewish causes. No man should consider himself too insignificant to be a partner in the covenant between the Jews and Hashem (L’l Mode U’Lamed on the Weekly Parsha, Parsha Nitzavim, page 183) read more

Expose Those Who Hide the Truth, the Dangers From All of Us…

Politically Correct Perfidy, By Caroline Glick (Jerusalem Post)

“In his decision to expunge the charges against Matar, Mintz wrote, ‘Anytime we are dealing with freedom of speech, criminal law does not present the correct and effective tool.'”

“Five years after Sept 11, the greatest asset the jihadists who seek our physical and spiritual destruction have are those within our own society who prevent us from seeing the dangers and defending ourselves. Our greatest challenge as individuals is to expose these dangers and those who hide them to our fellow citizens.” read more

Totally Lacking Moral Integrity or Principle, Mofaz Backs Off Support for State Commission…

Mofaz Backtracks on War Probe, By Gil Hoffman (Jerusalem Post)

Excerpts;

Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz has changed his mind and will either abstain or vote in favor of the government commission Prime Minister Ehud Olmert formed to investigate the war in Lebanon, sources close to Mofaz said on Monday night.

Mofaz’s decision came a day after he became the first Kadima minister to call for a state commission of inquiry into the war. Olmert’s associates reacted angrily to Mofaz’s call, saying that Mofaz was more to blame than anyone else for the blunders of the war. read more

Another Hedge for Release of the Kidnapped Soldiers Given Away by Olmert Regime…

PA Parliament Members Released on Bail

Full Text;
“The IDF Military Court decided on Tuesday to release the 18 Hamas ministers, who are members of the Palestinian Authority parliament, on bail. The court granted the PA parliament members bail of 25 thousand shekels each, Israel Radio reported.”

Commentary;

By all appearances; by the ceasefire which didn’t achieve it’s aims, by the lifting of the air and sea blockade and now by releasing the Hamas ministers on bail, it seems obvious that Ehud Olmert has no intention of obtaining the freedom of the 3 kidnapped soldiers. Or if he does obtain freedom for the soldiers, it now seems obvious that it will be at a bloody cost: release of thousands of terrorists who will inevitably take more Jewish blood. Sha’ul Mofaz: Bandwagon Jumper, Political Opportunist, Lacking the Competency and Moral Integrity Needed to Lead…

The Latest Bandwagon Jump of Sha’ul Mofaz, by Hillel Fendel (Israel National News)

For context, click here, here and here.

The call by Cabinet Minister Sha’ul Mofaz for a public state commission of inquiry into the government’s handling of the Lebanon war prompts more criticism of his political opportunism.
