Moshe Feiglin: Getting a lot of Ink for a “Minor Player” in Likud

.

Commentary;

Caroline Glick is right in bemoaning Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu’s pre-occupation with in the media for bringing Moshe Feiglin and Manhigut Yehudit down rather than distinguishing the differences between a Likud slate top-heavy with principled, common sense candidates for Knesset and the too tired to fight, too tired to win destructo “delusional and defeatist Kadima and Labor parties.”

However, the amount of ink spilled in Glick’s attempt to portray Moshe Feiglin and Manhigut Yehudit as “minor players” actually betrays the extent of Feiglin’s true strength in the party and his arrival in “the Big Leagues.” He received some 12,000 votes out of 50,000, the candidates he endorsed won 7 of the top 12 slots and 10 of the first 20 slots and 7 out of the 2nd 20 slots on the Likud list and his co-founder of Manhigut Yehudit Shmuel Sackett didn’t make a regional candidate slot despite receiving 10,000 votes in his region. read more

2nd Take: The Likud Primary, Moshe Feiglin and the Likud Gush Katif Referendum

.

Quite a few people have told me over this campaign that they can’t perceive of Moshe Feiglin and Manhigut Yehudit winning this or any Likud primary.

There are comments like; He’s too unknown, He has no legislative background or experience, Manhigut Yehudit is too small a movement, he could never win national election — that Likud would end up with less seats in Knesset than now, even single-digit numbers.

But, guess what people; victory seems waiting for us on Primary Day. It’s like “the Tugger used to say; “Ya Gotta Believe!” read more

The Likud Primary, Moshe Feiglin and the Likud Gush Katif Referendum

.

One of the things which really gets this author’s ire is the chutzpadik attitude of the Likud party towards it’s voters.

Consider the recent attempts by the Likud and it’s current party leadership to oust one of the current principals in the race for Likud leadership with the Leadership primary to tke place on 14 August, merely 15 days from now.

What are some of the rationale’s being used to justify ousting Manhigut Yehudit and it’s standard-bearer Moshe Feiglin? read more

Netanyahu: Today the Likud Begins a Path of Renewal

Excerpts:

Netanyahu said that next week, he intends to bring a proposal to the central committee calling for the banning of those who had been convicted of felonies and who had been sentenced to at least three-months’ detention [2] from any official position in the party.

‘I want to stress that by introducing this proposal, our aim is not to resolve issues of ideology. This is done by our party democracy. Its aim is to clean the party of criminal elements,'[2] he stressed.” read more

Moshe Feiglin and the Likud/Feiglin’s Campaign Getting too Hot for Bibi to Handle?

Feiglinism and the Likud

Excerpts;

“Upon seeing the news from Israel earlier this week, I was met with the headline that Defense Minister Sha’ul Mofaz became the latest Likudnik to jump ship and join Kadima. The fact that he made this move didn’t surprise me in the least, nor did it disappoint me in the slightest. I had been concerned all along that he was merely serving the role of an Ariel Sharon mole, whose sole purpose was to help Sharon win re-election.

There was one point in Mofaz’s act that did make me take note, and that was his attempt to sneak in a cheap shot against Moshe Feiglin before making his dramatic departure. Mofaz is not the first of the Likud renegades to take a poke at Feiglin. In fact, Feiglin has become the favorite target of many former Likudniks who seem to have this irrational fear of Feiglinism taking over the Likud. That is a very interesting phenomenon given the poll numbers, which give Moshe Feiglin less than 15% of the vote. So, there obviously must be much more to it than just poll numbers.” read more

Likud Paying Huge Price in Lost Votes for Bibi’s Demotion of Feiglin

.
Commentary:

The Jerusalem Post’s Gil Hoffman reports Binyamin Netanyahu has apparently engaged Avigdor Lieberman and Yisrael Beiteinu in a battle to regain votes for his Likud party as polls indicate that the gap between Likud and Kadima is narrowing while Yisrael Beiteinu’s popularity is mounting. Hoffman notes that;

According to a Ma’agar Mohot poll broadcast on Channel 2 last night, the Likud has lost six seats, including three to Israel Beiteinu… The poll showed Israel Beiteinu receiving 19 seats. read more
