Excerpts;

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert confirmed Sunday that he intended to engage in dialogue with representatives of the Arab League on the basis of the Saudi peace initiative, but emphasized that such discussions did not constitute an Israeli acceptance of all the principles of the initiative.

“The discussions are a way of solving the problems without violence, and that’s a positive thing,” Olmert said at the beginning of Sunday’s cabinet meeting.

Olmert reiterated during the meeting that he accepted parts of the Saudi initiative. “As I said before, and as the foreign minister and the defense minister said, there are positive aspects to the Saudi initiative and we view those elements favorably,” Olmert said.

Livni will travel to Jordan immediately after tomorrow’s meeting with Abbas for talks with her Jordanian counterpart Abdullah al-Khatib.

She will update him on the talks in Jerusalem and discuss the Riyadh summit, including the possible Israeli participation in the Arab League working group.

The Dead Sea area talks in Jordan come ahead of a meeting of Arab League foreign ministers in Cairo on Thursday, and are the first bilateral contacts since the Riyadh conference.

Commentary;

For those of you who have amnesia regarding the Arab League’s role in attempts to destroy Israel, this Wikepedia entry (disregarding their bogus linguistic assertion that the Arabs then living, residing in or nomadically passing through pre-statehood “Palestine” were the only “Palestinians”) gives a clear description of the pre-eminent role that the Arab league played in Arab, Islamic efforts to destroy Israel throughout it’s nearly 59 years of modern-day statehood.

Caroline Glick best describes Olmert’s and Livni’s acceptance of “parts of the Saudi initiative;”

The Saudi plan includes two stages. In the first stage, Israel divests itself of defensible borders by surrendering the Golan Heights, Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria. It also allows itself to become inundated with millions of hostile foreign-born Arabs who call themselves Palestinian refugees.

In resubmitting their “peace plan,” the Saudis are simply acting as they have always acted – as Israel’s enemy and as a country dedicated to preventing the US from basing its Middle East policy on a recognition of the basic fact that Arab and Islamic hostility towards the US stems from the same source as Arab and Islamic hostility towards Israel.

There it is, pure, simple and succinct. What could Olmert possibly have to talk about with the Arab League? The fact of the matter is that Olmert, Livni and ALL other Israeli secular political, governmental leaders, and some “religious” ones too, lack erudition regarding the breadth of Jewish history and the unbreakable Divine Jewish legacy and connection to land of Israel. They lack the capability to present and prove Jews’ ownership of and the eternal Divine legacy to Eretz Yisrael. This regime, in it’s TOTALITY, from Olmert and Livni to Bibi, to Peres, Ramon, Sneh, Beilin, Sarid, etc. has no clue as to why there is, or needs to be a modern-day Jewish sovereignty, or why THEY are even here. They are ALL therefore abysmally unqualified to lead a Jewish nation. MB
