New IDF Chief Rabbi on Further “Disengagements”, “Convergence” …

‘Evacuating Settlements Doesn’t Contradict Halacha’

Excerpts;

Incoming OC Chaplaincy Corps Rabbi Avichai Ronsky said in an interview this week that evacuating Jewish settlements as part of a disengagement or convergence plan is not necessarily opposed to halacha.

Although Ronsky has refused media requests for an interview, he agreed to be interviewed by a group of yeshiva students for Olam Katan, a weekly religious pamphlet distributed to synagogues nationwide.

Olam Katan asked Ronsky if it was true that “the central halachic opinion” among rabbis prohibited evacuating settlement. read more

SELA to Gus Katif Refugees: Leave Hotels Chik Chuk for Caravillas — Ein Tzurim Caravillas Not Even Close to Ready!

SELA Minahelet: “Spoiled Brats” ???

Baby Casualty from a Kassam Attack.

The minhelet [presumably SELA] has terribly insulting quotes about the GK people in Yediot. If they are accurate quotes those minhelet reps should be punished in the village square. How can they be the operational arm of the compensation law if they have such slanted views against the GK people? Example; “They are spoiled and are acting like spoiled brats on the account of the funds of the Sela commission. We can’t worry about them any more in the temporary facilities. Now it is an issue of hand bending -which ever of us breaks first….they have to move to humane facilities and get out of those inhumane hotel rooms.” read more

Olmert: Election Was a National Referendum

Full Text;

Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told senior Kadima members on Wednesday night that he agrees with those who said the election was a referendum, the voice of the people, and Kadima has been chosen.

Olmert stated that since Kadima emerged the largest party, it is a vote of support for his policies, including plans to move ahead towards an agreement with the Palestinian Authority (PA), or in the absence of cooperation, moving forward with his “concentrating inward” plan, unilaterally. read more

Israel Courting Kassam Catastrophe

Excerpts;

Israel appears content to simply wait for disaster after a Kassam rocket attack that nearly ended in catastrophe when it landed just meters from hazardous materials in Ashkelon Tuesday elicited little more than a token response.

The rocket, fired by Palestinian Arabs operating out of northern Gaza, landed inside Ashkelon’s vulnerable southern industrial district, dangerously close to substances that if ignited would have devastating consequences. read more

Parsha Tzav 5766: The Consistency and Constancy of A Jew

Parsha Tzav 5766: The Consistency and Constancy of A Jew

by Moshe Burt

In our Parsha, Tzav is Moshe’s command from Hashem to Aaron HaKohen and his sons to take up and clothe themselves in their Vestments, their garments of service in the Mishkan, and to begin their daily Avodah (service and offerings in the Mishkan).

For seven days, Moshe taught Aaron HaKohen and his sons the laws of their Avodah in the Mishkan. (You might say that they were given, as they term it in the US, OJT from Shemayim.) On the eighth day, Aaron and his sons began their Avodah. read more

Continued Confirmation of Prediction: Arabs Claim Israel Sabotaged Gaza, This Time: By Keeping Checkpoints Closed …

Jew-Free Gaza Births Humanitarian Crisis

Excerpts;

Their mighty claims of self-reliance notwithstanding, the Palestinian Arabs have failed to turn a Gaza Strip cleansed of all Jews into a source of national pride and prosperity, and are instead, according to United Nations aid workers, on the verge of birthing a full-blown humanitarian crisis there.

At first the “Palestinians” insisted their failure to continue making the once-barren coastal strip blossom as the Jews had was Israel’s doing via a concerted effort to contaminate the land by placing barrels of toxins deep underneath the vacated settlements. read more

State Fosters Settler Mistrust

Excerpts;

Incredibly, the current Israeli leadership seems to be purposely fostering mistrust between the state and Israeli settlers in Judea and Samaria, making the likelihood of bloodshed the next time Prime Minister Ehud Olmert moves to uproot a Jewish community dangerously high.

Just days before the brutal destruction of the Amona outpost in Binyamin two months ago, the IDF succeeded in reaching a compromise deal with the Jews of Hebron regarding their removal from homes in an old vegetable market on the outskirts of the Avraham Avinu neighborhood. read more
