Offensive Signs Removed from Highway 1

Commentary;

And of course, the thought police couldn’t tolerate the truth of these signs being broadcast to the people. After all, it jeopardizes their “lead” in the polls. And surely, there cannot be any independent thought amongst the “Am.” MB read more

“Though just five months had passed since most of the players, and spectators, had been evicted from their homes by Israeli soldiers, that didn’t stop them from having a few hours of good, ol’-fashioned and much-deserved fun.” read more

Expelled Families Continue to Suffer

Excerpts;

“Close to 100 families from N’vei Dekalim are still housed in Jerusalem hotels, more than five months after their expulsion. THE GREAT GAME GOES ON

By Rachel and Moshe Saperstein. Neve Dekalim / Jerusalem Gold Hotel

[Yesterday I had a tour of a number of refugee camps where our people are trying to maintain their dignity and self-respect, and I will report on their condition in my next letter. Rachel]

A little over a week ago Moshe received a call from the lady who tripped over the protruding water pipe. “It’s all done” she said brightly. “Come and get your keys.”

“All?” asked Moshe with the skepticism of bitter experience. read more

Report Details Plight of Gush Katif Families

Excerpts;

“Latest report: Of the 1,750 families expelled from Gush Katif, over 400 are still living in the most temporary of dwelling arrangements, such as hotels, tent cities and yeshiva dormitories.

“Compensation payments: The families had their homes destroyed, yet many of them continue to pay mortgages – and all of them face increasing expenses related to their relocation – yet more than half the families have received nothing at all of the promised compensation. Gush Katif Families Charge Gov’t with ’Election Propaganda’

Latest Chapter on the Plight of the Gush Katif Refugees from Rachel Saperstein …

O’ Precious Key

Excerpts;

We are still in the hotel room that we call home. Little by little families are moving out to join their friends and neighbors from Neve Dekalim already living in the Nitzan trailer camp. We watch the hotel trolley carrying out the last of the valises, the plastic drawers on wheels, the children’s clothing thrown into supermarket bags, the Shabbat dresses still on hangars. The contents of the ship container have already been unpacked and placed, a bit askew, into the small trailers. Larger pieces are stored in a backyard shed. The cars are loaded, the children pile in, and we wave goodbye.” read more
