‘State Says My Son Not Terror Victim’

Full Text;

The 11th victim of Kassam rocket fire died of wounds he received last week, Israel Radio revealed Thursday morning.

Thirteen-year-old Chai Shalom suffered from cerebral palsy, and was deaf, mute, and confined to a wheel-chair. He was hospitalized after a rocket landed next to a bus transporting him and three other disabled children.

According to the report, all four children were wounded by the force of the blast. The driver of the bus fainted and Shalom’s caretaker alerted his father. read more

One of the main themes underlying Parsha Kedoshim is the loving care with which each Jew is to treat his Jewish brother. Indeed, we see that the first posuk of our Parsha conveys that spirit, “Hashem spoke to Moshe saying, “Speak to the entire assembly of B’nai Yisrael and say to them: You shall be holy, for holy am I, Hashem, your G’d.” (Sefer Vayikra, Perek 19, posuk 1) Our Parsha then goes on to enumerate the Asseret HaDivrot, the Ten Commandments in depth. read more

Perhaps Olmert’s hands have not yet been soiled by an Abbas handshake, but for sure Peres’ hands have been soiled and worse at the hands of both Abbas and Arafat. But it is easy to buy Barak’s reaction, namely regarding an Olmert “insurance policy” against Arab terrorists of any stripe taking terrorist actions which would “jeopardize” Olmert’s chances for election victory.
