Power-Abusive Israeli Bureaucrats Empowered With Life and Death Decisions

‘State Says My Son Not Terror Victim’

Full Text;

The 11th victim of Kassam rocket fire died of wounds he received last week, Israel Radio revealed Thursday morning.

Thirteen-year-old Chai Shalom suffered from cerebral palsy, and was deaf, mute, and confined to a wheel-chair. He was hospitalized after a rocket landed next to a bus transporting him and three other disabled children.

According to the report, all four children were wounded by the force of the blast. The driver of the bus fainted and Shalom’s caretaker alerted his father.

The boy died last week in Soroka Hospital after his condition worsened.

His father asked that Shalom be recognized as a terror victim and was denied because his particular incident had not been reported.

Excerpts;

A terror rocket exploded next to a vehicle in which Chai and other disabled children were being transported. The explosion caused pieces of flying glass to hit the driver and children forcefully. Chai’s legs were broken as a result.

Chai’s sister: during the three days he spent in Soroka hospital he suffered from a very high fever and shortness of breath that grew worse daily. Despite the family’s pleas, she said, the doctors refused to take him to the intensive care unit. Last Friday he passed away.

The Soroka hospital said that Chai was hospitalized with severe pneumonia and received the proper treatment. “His broken legs were diagnosed in time and no connection was found between them and his death.”

Commentary;

Barak of IRIS is concerned about the attack not being reported in the media. The real concern goes far deeper than MSM and gets to the core of the Israeli governmental and bureaucratic mentality. We saw this gross and negligent abuse of power again and again regarding their treatment of the former Gush Katif residents; the failures and rationales for why full restitution was never made to them, as people such as Rachel Saperstein and others have repeatedly reported for nearly 2 years.

So which callous, cruel, insensitive, power-abusive ISRAELI bureaucrat mistreated a Jew by deciding that Shalom was not a terror victim, that he be… “denied because his particular incident had not been reported”? Soroka Hospital? Bituach Leumi? Whom? Why doesn’t the Jerusalem Post report who the bureaucratic culprit is?? That bureaucrat should be tarred and feathered and criminally charged with gross, outrageous negligence. MB
