Prediction Confirmed — Olmert: Realignment Definitely Not Dead…. Read My Lips: I’m Ready for Territorial Compromises…

Commentary;

As predicted on this Blog, here, here, here, here, here and more: The two reports below, including the chilling Newsweek-Washington Post interview with prime minister Olmert ought to be food for momentum to build among those Jews who look at their fellows as brethren and who passionately love this holy land, Eretz Yisrael. Does it get any more obvious, any more black and white than this? And those who care had better make an all-out effort to enlist the Chareidim, even over the Chareidi politicians, those self-proclaimed “gatekeepers” who guard the “gedolim” from the full story like Bernie tended goal. They, the masses of Chareidim need to absorb and intellectualize that the fight against convergence is AT LEAST AS IMPORTANT as confronting the gay display! MB read more

In the Aftermath of the Gay Display, Such as it Was, Will the Lessons Carry Forward to the “Outposts”, to “Convergence?”

We Could Have Saved Gush Katif and Northern Samaria, by Nadia Matar (Israel National News)

Excerpts;

The strong responses from the ultra-Orthodox public has had an impact. This can already be considered a success.

First, the unity in the ultra-Orthodox camp is praiseworthy. All the communities, all the factions, all the rabbis sent out a single, clear message: “All of us, as a single person, are mobilized to prevent the ‘Abomination Parade’, at any cost.” Tens of thousands of fliers were distributed to the ultra-Orthodox community to instruct them what to do if and when they were to be arrested and sent to jail as a result of their protest. The message broadcast by the leaders of the struggle is clear: this parade is to be stopped, with determination and without sensitivity, even at the cost of sitting in prison. read more

The Consequences of an Israel Perceiving As Owing It’s Entire Identity, Defense and Diplomacy to Superpower Electoral Politics…

Column One: Olmert’s Ill-Timed Washington Visit, by Caroline Glick (Jerusalem Post)

“If Olmert were a strong leader, in light of the Republican defeat and Bush’s response to that defeat, he could use the meeting as an opportunity to tell Bush that Israel accepts responsibility for attacking Iran’s nuclear installations. But Olmert, who spent his last visit in the US capital trying to convince the Americans to support his plan to surrender Judea and Samaria to Hamas, is not a strong leader. He is a weak leader. The new wind blowing out of Washington will easily cast him asunder. read more

Remembering Rav Kahane z’l

Remembering Rav Kahane z’l

By Moshe Burt

It’s hard to find the right words this year to commemorate the Yahrtzeit of Rav Meir Kahane z’l. These days, those of us who know his way to be Tzadek, have been monopolized fighting-off gay displays and fighting for the Torah way in Eretz Yisrael against the elitists who control the mainstream, overwhelmingly, morally corrupt Israeli institutions.

The Rav consistently, uncompromisingly and doggedly pursued and articulated, by both the written and spoken word as well as by deed, love of fellow Jew, love of Torah and love of and possession of Eretz Yisrael. read more

U.S. Jewish Groups Refuse Aid to Refugees, By Aaron Klein (WorldNetDaily.com)
