NATO Not Opposed to Sending Troops to West Bank’

NATO would not be opposed to sending troops to the West Bank after Israel withdraws from territories there, a European diplomat in Brussels was quoted as saying Sunday.

In an interview with the Saudi Al-Watan newspaper, the diplomat stressed that NATO preferred that its troops be part of an international force in the area but said it would embark on the mission alone if required. read more

PA: 600 More Terrorists to be Released

Sources in the Palestinian Authority over the weekend said that Israel was weighing the possibility of freeing 600 terrorists, in addition to the 254 released last week. The sources said the Prime Minister Ehud Olmert promised PA chief Mahmoud Abbas that the terrorists would be freed if the PA returns to serious negotiations on Israeli withdrawals from Judea and Samaria over the next several weeks. The issue will be discussed at the upcoming meeting between Olmert and Abbas. read more
