Compounding the Chet: Olmert’s War Tactics and Spin to Convergence, Even at Price of Victory …

Our World: Talkin’ About a Revolution, by Caroline Glick

Excerpts;

Whatever marginal diplomatic gains the Olmert government may try to convince the public the draft resolution contains for Israel, the fact is that regardless of the language eventually adopted, and whatever force of French, Egyptian, Turkish, Italian and German soldiers will or will not be deployed to Lebanon, all any cease-fire resolution will do is ensure that there will be another round of war.

This is the case because none of the moves being considered involve the one action that would prevent the next war. That action is an Israeli victory against Hizbullah in Lebanon, and an Israeli and allied strike against Hizbullah’s state sponsors Syria and Iran. read more

Is Olmert Intellectually Equipped to Internalize and Re-Think ‘Convergence’ Based on the ‘Disengagement’ Lessons and Realities? To Swallow His Arrogance in the National Interest?

Disengagement Lessons

Excerpts;

Eight months after the withdrawal from Gaza, or what was referred to as a “unilateral disengagement,” things are not developing according to the early scenario marketed to the public.

Almost nothing has materialized in the way pullout supporters promised us would happen.

Did Israel gain from the disengagement? Less than what its planners hoped. The United States didn’t grant us even one cent in economic aid, even though in various phases of preparation for the withdrawal and upon the pullout, much was said about a special USD 2 billion grant. As of today, there’s no grant. read more

Olmert’s “Convergence” = Expulsion2: Too Massive, Too Costly and Olmert — He’s No Sharon …

Unilateralism an Empty Dream

Commentary;

Perhaps Olmert’s “Convergence” will go the way of Barak’s pre-campaign push to draft Chareidim. It’s two massive in scope and too economically costly. The American aid that Israel banked on with the Gaza expulsion never materialized as the US was stuck with a major refugee problem of it’s own from the massive Hurricane Katrina.

In order to satisfy Labor’s socieo-economic demands, there will be no additional funds available to defray both the massive military/police costs of executing such an expulsion and the costs of restitution to the residents of an expulsion of the scale and magnitude of 80,000 Jews. read more

Parsha Vayigash 5771: Yosef, the Brothers and Real Teshuvah

Moshe Burt

There was an Israel National News report last week about how former IDF Chief Rabbi Yisrael Weiss expressed regret at having supported the expulsion, or as they call it the “disengagement.”

Rabbi Weiss expressed the following:

“Rabbi Yisrael Weiss, former IDF Chief Rabbi, has expressed regret over his role in the 2005 “Disengagement” from Gaza and northern Samaria. At the time, Rabbi Weiss came out against refusing orders, saying that IDF soldiers who are told to expel Jews from their homes by force must do so.” read more

Parsha Ki Tisa 5770 — Torah Principle and Standing Up to Immoral Law

By Moshe Burt

For many years, this author has spoken or written about a posuk in Parsha Ki Tisa which alludes to an event which is recorded in Torah 40 years later, in a subsequent Parsha.

The posuk being referred to (Sh’mos, Perek 30, posuk 30) says that while Moshe Rabbeinu was on Har Sinai being given Torah, Hashem said;

“You shall anoint Aaron and his sons and sanctify them to minister (to serve) me.”

This seemingly obscure posuk which pops up in a couple of slightly different forms in both Parsha Tetzaveh and in our Parsha raises a challenging question which cuts to the chase of what we continue to face today. The question is; what about that Pinchas Ben Elazar? Why was he not anointed as a Kohen with his brothers? read more

Parsha Ki Tisa 5769 — Torah Principle, Immoral Law and Peer Group Pressure

For many years, since 1991 when Parsha Ki Tisa marked my son Philip’s Bar Mitzvah, I have spoken or written about a posuk in our Parsha which alludes to an event which is recorded in Torah 40 years later, in a subsequent Parsha.

Kadima Party, Leaders: Conceived and Born in Sin

.

431 Vote Difference in Tainted Party Primary NOT National Mandate

Commentary;

For those not too young, timid or politically equivocal to remember the truth; the Kadima Party was conceived in evil and formed by the 2 1/2 year comatose former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as a Super-Party shelter and safe-haven for all of main facilitators of the August 2005 expulsions of Jews from their homes, assets, communities and Shuls in Gush Katif and the 4 Shomron towns.

And who were the chiefs among these facilitators of the August, 2005 expulsion besides Sharon who shared his vision of consolidation, convergence, realignment; synonyms for using the Gush Katif model for making Yehuda and the Shomron Yudenrein and handing biblical Jewish land and heritage to the enemy? read more
