Indictment For Holding Referendum

Yekutiel Ben Yaakov, Director of the “Referendum For Israel” will be brought to trial on April 26 after being indicted on incitement charges for holding a referendum in which Israelis are given a choice to vote on which form of “disengagement” they prefer.

In the referendum voters are asked to vote “yes” or “no” on the following question:

Do you prefer more of the “Sharon/Peres Disengagement Plan” which includes transfering more Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria to “Palestinian” control, and expulsion of the Jews who live there – A move that would bring “Palestinian” territory closer to major Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv, Kfar Saba and Jerusalem.? read more

Atzmona Evacuees Receive Keys to Kibbutz Shomriya

Excerpts:

A ceremony was held on Sunday evening at Kibbutz Shomriya in the Negev as the community’s veterans handed over their settlement to the Atzmona evacuees.

A total of 56 settler families that have been living in mobile homes near Netivot received the keys to their new homes, and are expected to move to the kibbutz in the coming days.

The kibbutz will become a religious settlement and will no longer be a part of the Kibbutz Artzi once the ex-Atzmona residents move in. read more

This week Israeli buses all over the country will be displaying gigantic poster ads (4 ½ meters long by 1 meter high) of JONATHAN POLLARD and the text: AYFOH HA’BOOSHA? (Where is the sense of shame?) Additional text in a box on the poster informs: JONATHAN POLLARD, 21 YEARS IN PRISON IN THE USA.

As the buses get rolling, a parallel campaign invites citizens all over the country to hang thousands of huge posters and banners on their balconies and building-fronts. These banners have the same graphic elements as the ubiquitous bus ads, but instead of a photograph will feature a graphic icon of Jonathan, and the text: ROTZIM ET POLLARD BABAYIT! (We want Pollard home!) Bumper stickers and info-stickers with the same logo and design will be distributed by the thousands all over the country. read more

“Shas has decided to pull one of its election ads following the ruling of the head of the central elections committee, Judge Dorit Beinish, on Friday that the promo violated the laws governing election propaganda by promising anyone who voted for Shas a place in heaven.”

“Beinish asked the party to withdraw its ad, and said that if Shas did not comply voluntarily, she would enforce her decision.”

Likud: Olmert’s Interview Will Hurt Him

“I am still hoping for and would not be surprised by election results very different than the polls due to the well-known reasons; size of polling data, leftist slant and undecided people, and many people who will eventually vote Likud and Labor instead of Kadima due to longstanding loyalties.”

“There is one more reason I would like to add: Incompetence. Olmert, Livni, Ezra and the Kadima gang are NOT top-level people (maybe with the exception of Olmert) and they have risen to their level of incompetence. In fact they jumped to their current level due to very unusual circumstances and not due to “promotion” due to good service at their previous levels. Therefore we have been seeing policy and campaign mistakes on their part due to hubris and general lack of competence. This will hopefully cause them to continue to sink in the polls.” read more
