American Jews: Are You Okay With Where Your Federation Donations are Going?

Not With My Money, by Lori Lowenthal Marcus (Jerusalem Post)

“Three of the principal goals of JAFI are to develop Jewish communities in the Galilee and the Negev, encourage aliya, and promote Jewish continuity… All three of those goals, however, would be considered illegitimate colonizing enterprises by at least one of JAFI’s grantees – the Mossawa Center, an Arab-Israeli thank tank. Mossawa seems committed to eliminating every one of them.”

“It is time for Jewish donors who wish Israel to remain a Jewish state – and there is nothing inconsistent with it being a Jewish state and a democracy – to scrutinize the actions of their investment professionals.” read more

Farm owner Yaakov Talia: “Even the Civil Administration admits that the Arabs can’t sufficiently prove it’s theirs – but the army gave it to them anyway. Command Arrogance Cost Israel Dearly in Lebanon Clash

Commentary;

Indecisiveness, indecision, lack of training, incompetence at the command and political levels as well as shortages of military necessities were not all that cost Israel severely during last summer’s Lebanon debacle.

The Mattot Arim, PSI, WIG Joint Statement: American Jewish Responses

On Sunday, this author posted The Mattot Arim, PSI, WIG Joint Statement calling for Jews in Chutz L’Aretz (Diaspora) to Lobby against the creation of a terror state in Yehuda and the Shomron.

This piece was posted with some trepidation, with pictures of our Israeli Dumber and Dumber… as well as with this author’s personal caveat.

The trepidation was based on anticipation and expectations as to how some would respond from thousands of miles away, as they sit snug and smug in what they perceive as their own safe, secure property in the US, not believing for an instant that they, like the Jews of Europe of the late 1930s and 1940s, could someday be delegitimized and dehumanized. read more

Tossing Around Hot Potatoes

Commentary:

The blame game begins or continues between regime officials, each as evil as the other — including “Mean Me’ir.” The bottom line: for all of the blame and hot potatoes being tossed around, former Gush Katif residents continue to be without permanent resettlement, and the housing shortage in Yehuda and Shomron continues.
