If True, Some Good News for Gush Katif Refugee Families…

First Group of Gush Katif Expellees Receive Plots to Build New Homes

Full Text;

The first group of former residents of Gush Katif have received plots of land to begin building permanent homes.

The group consists of 21 families of the destroyed communities of Elei Sinai and Nisanit which were located in the northern Gaza Strip.

The plots are located in the community of Bat Hadar, near the city of Ashkelon.

Commentary;

This blog prefaces this report with “if true” because we know how easy it is for the regime to deny, to go back on their solemn committments, etc. This author takes the approach; “I’ll believe it when I see it”, I’ll believe it when friends from the former Gush Katif invite me for a Shabbos to their new, permanent homes. Only then will this blog publish as fact. MB read more

Halutz Sacks General Ron-Tal for Having Courage to Speak Out…

Halutz Orders Snap Retirement of ‘Rebellious General’, Hanan Greenberg (Ynet)

Commentary;

As reported yesterday on this blog, it seems that General Ron-Tal is the first senior officer to do the right thing — to have spoken out against the expulsion, against the military’s failures in Lebanon, to have called for Halutz’s resignation and to have preemptively resigned prior to being discharged. Ron-Tal loses various retirement funds, benefits and perks which, under threat of loss, serves to keep other senior officers “in line.” read more

No Room for Our Father at UN Israel Rally…

Is God With Us? By Avi Shafran (Jerusalem Post)

“Dershowitz invoked a verse from the book of Isaiah that speaks of the ultimate futility of the plottings of the Jewish people’s enemies.”

“‘Utzu eitzah v’tufar; dabru davar v’lo yakum,’ the former yeshiva bochur eloquently intoned. ‘Plan a conspiracy, and it will be foiled; speak your piece and it will not stand.'”

“Very inspiring, except that Dershowitz left out the final words of the verse, ‘ki imanu [K]el’ – ‘for God is with us.'” read more

For Those Who Still Entertain Notion: “Pa Peace (sic) Partner”, Rationale for “Land for Peace(sic)…”

Fatah member: Abbas Recognition of Israel Political, By Aaron Klein (WND)

“Our Fatah movement keeps dreaming of Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jaffa and Akko”

Commentary;

“Land for Peace” and all of it’s synonyms and euphemisms, i.e. convergence, consolidation, realignment, security fences, etc. ought to be killed and cremated. The concept is not even worthy of burial. It envisions nothing more than the separation of Israelis from their Jewish roots and heritage. It is nothing more than the fruition of all of the self-doubt which the post-zionist elitists have brainwashed the average Israeli into believing. MB read more

The above incident can’t help but bring to this author’s mind a conversation with a group of Chareidim which took place last Shushan Purim in Jerusalem. The tone of the Chareidim was very negative about the Land. MB read more
