“We have decided to make Sderot a ghost town,” said a spokesman for Hamas who gave his name as Abu Ubeideh. “We are not going to stop launching our rockets until they leave.”

Moyal, on his part, decided to put the schools in Sderot on strike for the day and asked the parents to pick up all the school students and kindergarten children and take them home.

… He added that the municipality would evaluate the situation during the day and would then decide whether to keep the schools closed in the coming days.

The Hamas terrorist gang bombarded Sderot and Ashkelon with 13 Kassam rockets Sunday morning. One rocket hit a school critically wounding a worker; two teachers went into shock.

Following the attack, the Sderot Mayor Eli Moyal closed all schools. In an interview with Arutz Sheva last week, he called to turn the Gaza Strip into a ghost town. Several citizens began a hunger strike in Sderot across from the home of Defense Minister Amir Peretz (Labor).
