Ehud, Read Our Lips: Co-existence and Islam Are Not Compatible

Recently, Arlene Peck, wrote an opinion article which appeared on the Israel National News website and this author deems it an urgent and important to digest and internalize, not merely in Chutz L’Aretz, but in Israel as well.

Peck writes;

Symposiums such as that of the America’s Truth Forum do so much to educate us to understand the minds and needs of Muslims, and to convey that, no matter what, Islam and democracy are not compatible. When we think of democracy, we think of freedom of speech, the ability to write and speak about whatever it is that bothers us. Our list of “What Freedom Means to Us” is huge. When a typical Muslim thinks of “democracy,” he can sum it up in one sentence: I won’t be a slave. Simple? [...]  Click here to read more.

Hamas/Hezbollah Terrorist Infrastructures in Gaza, Lebanon

More to Gaza Threat Than Just Rockets, Warns IDF

This author would like to believe the report’s opening premise which says that the Gaza ceasefire; “is being viewed with skepticism by Israeli government and military officials, who doubt the Palestinian Arabs’ willingness to keep to the truce for very long.”

The report goes on to say;

The Gaza-based terror groups, led by Hamas, continue to develop an massive terrorist infrastructure on par with
Hizballah-controlled southern Lebanon and Taliban-
controlled Afghanistan, he explained. [...]  Click here to read more.

Wednesday War News — The Censor Hard at Work??

Olmert Disappointed With Ceasefire

“While rocket attacks have reduced sharply in number, Kassams have been launched from northern Gaza on each day since the ceasefire began on Sunday morning at 6 a.m.”

Presumably, due to the time that this article was posted by INN, 12:12 Nov 29, ’06, the phrase “Kassams have been launched from northern Gaza on each day since the ceasefire,” there was one or more Kassams launched today; Wednesday. Where’s the report? MB

MK Steinitz: Olmert Sde Boker Speech Ultimate Burial of Israeli Determination…

Ben-Gurion grimmacing in pain, turning over in his grave?

The Prime Minister Hands Victory to Hamas, by MK Yuval Steinitz (Jerusalem Post)

For context, click here.

“The failure against Hamas in the South is an exact replication of the failure against Hizbullah in the North. In both cases, the IDF tried to win a war with air strikes and artillery fire, while neglecting to take over the territory of the terror organizations.”

“And so our cities are doomed, and our citizens condemned, to keep living under the growing threat of rocket fire from both the north and the south, until we recover our senses and return to our neglected culture of military resolve.” [...]  Click here to read more.

Ehud Olmert Decides to Let Sderot Fall…

Our World: An Orphan’s Appeal, by Caroline Glick (Jerusalem Post)

For context on this story, click here.

“I love Sderot very much, and I won’t leave it because I love the State of Israel. If I leave Sderot, if all of Sderot were evacuated, then the country would fall apart. The Palestinians will see that they are succeeding in Sderot, and then they’ll shoot Kassams at Ashkelon and Ashdod too, and do the same in the whole country until nothing is left.”

“I, Yaacobov’s son, am turning to you. Resign your positions! Resign. The defense minister and Olmert should admit that they can’t do this, and vacate their places in the government to Bibi Netanyahu and to [Avigdor] Lieberman. If they can [defend us] I want to see their answer. If not, they should vacate their seats, quickly.” — Hanan Yaacobov, son of poultry processing plant fatality. [...]  Click here to read more.

Parsha Vayeitzei 5767: Distinguishing Good from Evil, Compassion from Cruelty…

Parsha Vayeitzei 5767: Distinguishing Good from Evil, Compassion from Cruelty

by Moshe Burt

In last week’s Parsha Toldos, we learned about Rivka, who rose above an evil environment while internalizing it’s insights and was thus well positioned to urge Yaakov to claim the Bracha, and about Yaakov, the “Ish Tam”. We learn that Yaakov was “totally honest, a man of great integrity”, who was master over the trait of being “tam”, a “‘plain man’, … without trickery, but he did not allow this character trait to dominate him. He knew when and where to act otherwise.”  [...]  Click here to read more.

Boiling a Frog, or Lobster [or The Jewish State]

Boiling the Frog, by Yehuda Ben Meir (Haaretz)

This opinion article was seen on the Haaretz website on Sunday. In an unusual occurance, this author overlooked picking up the url. And today, while Ehud Olmert pleads with the “PA(sic)” for talks after the “ceasefire” and promises a sizeable release of terrorists (presumably many hundreds) in exchange for Gilad Shalit, “even those who have been sentenced to lengthy terms,” offers “large swathes of the West Bank” and to “release frozen funds to Palestinians”, the article below, “Boiling the Frog” has for some unknown reason vanished from the Haaretz website leaving no trace of it’s url. Background on Cease-Fire: Olmert, Peretz Buying Additional Time to Squander…

Background: In Absence of Continuous Rocket Fire, “Three Monkey Mode” Should Work for PM Olmert, by Dr. Aaron Lerner (IMRA)

Full Text;

In the absence of continuous rocket fire, it should be fairly easy for Prime Minister Olmert’s team to adopt the “three monkey mode” (hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil) towards large scale Palestinian arms build ups exploiting the ceasefire.

If there is only sporadic rocket fire, Mr. Olmert can be expected to agree to extend the ceasefire to the West Bank (thus enabling the Palestinians to accelerate their rocket program there as well) with an eye towards negotiating more Israeli withdrawals without requiring the Palestinians to ever actually collect weapons. [...]  Click here to read more.
