Settlers, Soldiers Scuffle in Hebron

Security forces had recently been tasked with the evacuation of settlers from eight Palestinian stores in the Hebron market. Two thousand policemen and soldiers have been allocated to evacuate both spots but the defense establishment, officials said, had yet to decide whether they would be evacuated simultaneously or on different days.”

Vilna’i: All Israel in Range of Hamas, Hezbollah Rockets

.
Commentary:

Boker Tov Am Yisrael! As if Vilna’i’s warning should come as any great shock to anyone with eyes, ears or a functioning brain in their head. But it just boggles the mind how the typical Yosef Q. Israeli doesn’t have his back up at the mal-feasance and non-feasance of successive governments, including Netanyahu, who have sat back, equivocating, voting to make parts of Jewish land Yudenrein and letting this state of affairs come to be. Frankly, this Jew is more than a litle tired of excuses, expressions like “ein ma’alasot”
(nothing can be done), or “I’m too tired to fight, too tired to win.” read more

Has the IDF Lost its Instincts of Yesteryear?

.
Commentary;

It used to be that the spirit, the credo of the IDF was unity, was “follow-me” commanders and command structure, was the collective security of the nation — in all of its regions and sectors. It used to be that the pain felt in the Negev, in Galil, in Jerusalem was felt in Tel Aviv, Haifa, or for that matter, Beit Shemesh. Ynet’s Guy Bechor writes of the change for the worst saying;

“We see excess of individualism, whereby only the individual is of interest to us, rather than the State or the army.” read more

Do Israeli Politicians Believe in the Justice of Israel’s Cause?

.
Commentary;

It seems patently obvious that without a Jewish faith-based governmental and leadership rooting, without recognition that our existence as a Jewish nation and our being in OUR Land is directly connected to the tenents of Jewish halacha and principle, both the governance and prestige of Israel are doomed to continued deep downward spiral. Two Years of Hindsight (Jerusalem Post Editorial)

Excerpts;

The second anniversary of the 34-day-long Second Lebanon War offers an apt occasion to reflect on its lessons for Israel, now that the dust has settled somewhat. It is almost universally agreed that although the Israeli home front displayed great resilience, the IDF, in failing to harness its overwhelming military superiority, squandered an opportunity to destroy the bulk of Hizbullah’s military presence in southern Lebanon, to crush that group’s state-within-a-state, and to enhance Israel’s deterrence. read more

Haaretz of “Rape Israel”: “Olmert Unfit to Conduct a War”

.
Commentary;

Tucked deep inside the Haaretz news website and inaccessible to anyone looking for it from the front page or from the opinion page,
the Haaretz editorial below, author unnamed, echos what David Horovitz wrote yesterday and which
this blog posted, but in even more stark terms such that one has to wonder how it is that editor David “Wet Dream about the Rape of Israel” Landau permitted it to run. The piece obviously seems to run counter to his agenda.

And beneath the hidden editorial is a more accessable Haaretz piece delivering more of the same message. But the great mystery of life is
how Haaretz could be so stark in now calling for Olmert’s ouster. How does this editorial jive with Haaretz’s standing in the MSM which etrogizes Olmert as long as he remains a “good boy” and gives up everything — including Jerusalem. MB

Security for Southern School Children Based on “Panic Button”, Instead of Building Reinforcement and Military Defense

The two reports below are prototypical of the Olmert regime’s dire neglect of southern residents, whether they live in towns bordering Gaza or in urban areas such as Ashkelon.

Barak Stakes Future Hand-Over of [Jewish] Land on Kassam Intercept System, Increased Level of IDF Preparedness

.

Commentary;

The two articles below, while reporting Barak’s assertions that any “separation” from land is 3-5 years away and dependent upon functionality of Kassam interception system, give short-shrift to the reality of the fallibility of any such system; i.e. in a massive attack, missiles will penetrate the system no matter what the level of functionality.

Beyond stating the obvious, that relinquishment or handing over of Jewish Land is based on the bogus demographics cover for severing Israeli connection for Jewish law, history, traditions and roots, it is axiomatic that Abba Eban’s famous Auschwitz borders pronouncement is at least as true now as it was when he made it in the UN. Olmert’s Arrogance and Disdain: ‘We Won’t Fortify Ourselves to Death’

.

Commentary:

As was previously posted on this blog, Olmert suddenly is talking offensively, rather than defensive protection of the citizens he governs. While he is very correct regarding the use of the term evacuation — in the context of causing a permanent retreat from a place, but what Olmert apparently means is forcing the citizens and children of Sderot, Ashkelon and other bordering locations to cower in their unreinforced homes and in their unprotected schools and ganim and in uninhabitable “bomb shelters” while Olmert commands the IDF to spend millions in bombing empty fields rather than bombing locations where the terrorists use human shield to protect themselves, their Kassams and other weapons and ammo. read more
