Parsha Vayechi 5767: Eretz Yisrael, the Fast of 10 Tevet and the Regime Monkeys (or Rather Chimps) on our Back

Parsha Vayechi 5767: Eretz Yisrael, the Fast of 10 Tevet and the Regime Monkeys (or Rather Chimps) on our Back

by Moshe Burt

Last year, this author related how Parsha Vayechi recounts two experiences which carry a common thread relating to Eretz Yisrael. And this week, we’ve just completed our Fast of 10 Tevet. And one year later, it’s deemed important that this thread be recalled.

Our parsha tells how, when Yaakov saw that the time of his death was
near, he called for Yosef and made him (Yosef) promise not to bury him
(Yaakov) in Mitzriyim, but rather in Ma’Orat HaMachpela in Chevron. (Perek 47, posuk 29) read more

Mindset of Rationalization Exists When Hashem is Missing from the Equation

Commentary;

David Harris and all like him absent, by omission and perhaps by commission, the hand of Hashem on events and history.

With Hashem seen as “in the loop”, one sees the hand (if you will) of Shemayim in all aspects of life, including the shaping and forming of history. With Hashem in the picture, the Jews see the Burning Bush and are not concerned with the George Bushs’, the Superpower, the EU, the UN, the UAE and Iran’s tyrant Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

With Hashem in the picture, one sees and recognizes events and history as being shaped for the good of His special, favored Nation. read more

Ethiopia: Another “Zionist Occupier”?

Column One: The New Zionist Occupiers, by Caroline Glick (Jerusalem Post)

“Israelis routinely assume that Europe’s pro-jihadist policy towards the Palestinians is a result of anti-Semitism or anger over Israel’s military victory in 1967. But the EU’s treatment of Ethiopia and the TFG indicates that Brussels’ hostility towards the Jewish state is part of a much further-reaching policy.”

“Israel cannot influence the Palestinians’ behavior one way or another because the Palestinians do not stand on their own. They are part of a wider pan-Arab and pan-Islamic trend.” read more

Arab Perceptions of Israeli Losses Verify Olmert Regime the Cause of Severe Loss of Credibility, Deterrence

Rami G. Khouri Lists Seven Events During Olmert Administration Seen as Israeli Losses, byRami G. Khouri (Beirut Daily Star)

Excerpt;

By most measures, it would seem the Israelis are winning the Palestinian-Israeli war. They control and colonize Arab lands, enjoy military superiority and total American support, and unilaterally define most diplomatic parameters of the conflict. Yet this may be a mistaken assessment: The Palestinians and Arabs are perhaps starting to win some battles, while Israel is losing some of its dominance. Seven events in the past five months seem to lend credence to this view. read more
