Dayan: In Middle East, Nothing Gets Done Without Force

Uzi Dayan: [S’derot Residents Feel] ‘Northern Blood Worth More than Southern Blood’

Former Major General Uzi Dayan said Wednesday morning that Sderot residents feel that “northern blood is worth more than southern blood.” Speaking on Voice of Israel government radio’s It’s All Talk program, the former head of the National Security Council charged that Israel is without leadership.

“Whoever thinks that in the Middle East you can do something without force is mistaken,” he asserted. Dayan called for ground action against terrorists “and not just in response to rocket attacks” but as part of an overall strategy… He warned that without military action, “Hamas will become Hizbullah Two.”

He said that Israelis are prepared to make sacrifices if they know there is proper leadership. People “are not afraid of Iran but fear there is no one on whom they can rely,” the former IDF officer concluded.

Commentary;

Credibility and deterence are the name of the game and Force, and the use of force is at least 50% of credibility with the other 50% being about principles. But the Olmert regime comes up short on all counts. MB
