Is President Bush in Danger from Terrorist “Bodyguards” During Upcoming Trip to ME?
.
Commentary;
That a bodyguard of the PA’s senior negotiator Ahmed Qureia (Abu Ala) was a terrorist is no great surprise. And it’s also no surprise that a Fatah security team, assigned during meetings with Mahmoud Abbas in August, to protect Ehud Olmert, “whose members he [Olmert] armed, pardoned and funded,” plotted, but were foiled in an attempted attack on the Israeli Prime Minister.
But this blog joins Barak of IRIS in expressing total consternation that the Bush entourage and security team would sanction coordination with with Al Aksa Brigades terrorists, in the guise of security, is shocking and apalling. Why, the attempted assassins of Olmert who got off with two months in PA jail may well be part of Bush’s security detail. One therefore must express all due trepidation for the President’s security during his upcoming trip here. MB
