Haven’t We Heard This “Never Pressure Israel” Many Times Before?

.
Commentary;

Haven’t we heard this from each succeeding US administration? Don’t we hear this from Republican presidential candidate John McCain and the two major Democratic candidates? But isn’t it true that once each succeeding administration came to power, from Carter right on forward to the waning days of the George W. Bush presidency, they each whistled a different tune from their campaign promises? And don’t successive Israeli governments, upon hearing each one of these repeated pledges not to pressure Israel, herald each pledge as a great step forward, as if never heard before? One who has a shekel for each time the statement “we will never pressure Israel over security” is uttered would be wealthy indeed. read more

Olmert’s Calculated, Hateful and Irresponsible Folly: Abrogation and Dismantlement of Jewish Sovereignty

.

Commentary;

Check out Dr. Aaron Lerner’s comments on IMRA regarding this latest Olmert folly and fiasco;

The introduction of Jordanian human shields with the very real potential of dangerous and damaging incidents as well as possible long term ramifications of the deployment of the Jordanian army at the gates of Jerusalem and Kfar Sava are so great that one can only wonder how many minutes – or seconds – were devoted to thinking this through.

This move also goes against the guiding principle of demilitarization of all areas this side of the Jordan River. read more

Motsei Shabbos Reflections on Parsha Beshalach: Easier to Remove the Jew from Bondage than to Remove the Bondage from the Jew

In the Parsha HaSheva of parsha Beshalach, this author touched on an area which turns out to be a vort, a drasha unto itself.

Our Parsha opens by stating; “It happened when Pharoh sent out the people that Hashem did not lead them by the way of the Philistines, because it was near, for Hashem said, ‘Perhaps the people will reconsider when they see a war, and they will return to Mitzriyim.’” (Sefer Sh’mos, Perek 13, posuk 17)

R’ Baruch Abba Rakowsky, in a citing from Torah Gems asks why, after escaping from such a terrible enslavement, would the first problem they faced drive them to return to Mitzriyim? He reasons that all that the B’nai Yisrael had wanted was to be freed of their terrible physical work. They never dreamed of liberation from the enslavement. Because of the absence of such a dream, there was ample reason to fear that at the first sign of difficulty they would return to Mitzriyim. When Will Israelis Learn Self-Reliance and Not Put Jewish Survival and Welfare in The Hands of Others?

Our World: The Longest-Running Big Lie, by Caroline Glick (Jerusalem Post)

Commentary;

Caroline Glick’s article on Yasser Arafat’s dominant role in the March, 1973 deaths of US Embassy’s Charges d’Affaires George Curtis Moore, US ambassador Cleo Noel and Belgian Charges d’Affairs Guy Eid by Fatah’s Black September group in their raid of the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan is a vain excercise and unfortunately, does not convince anyone that matters among the nations. And once again it shows the sheer folly of Israel’s leaders putting any reliance on man, on any so-called committment by any outside parties. read more

The Consequences of Olmert Regime’s Utter Dependence on Bosom of US Aid

Here are two important stories regarding the consequences of the Olmert regime’s total and complete dependence upon the US and the nations to insure Israel’s security;

U.S. Blocks Arms, Technology To Israel (Middle East News Line)

The Bush administration has blocked arms and technology transfers to Israel.

Israeli and U.S. sources said the State Department has blocked the transfer of weapons and technology to the Jewish state over the last three months. The sources said the halt reflected deteriorating relations between the two countries since the end of the war in Lebanon in August 2006. read more

Foreign Forces: Oft-Proven Bankrupt Concept Again Backfiring Against Israel…

The Problem With Foreign Forces, Jerusalem Post Editorial

For context, click here.

Commentary;

The problem with foreign forces; in a nutshell such that msm pundits can’t relate amongst their sea of empty, meaningless words; entrusting Israel’s defense to third parties never worked and never will. Whether to whatever UN mechanism, whether to the “p.a (sic)”, whether to Egypt who, as Caroline Glick spells out; “has been assiduously preparing its military for war against Israel…” or to the French or the Germans, not only has such dependency on third parties to prevent enemy actions never worked to Israel’s benefit, but have ALWAYS worked against Israel, to her detriment, to constrict and constrain any attempt by Israel to defend herself. read more
