Will Israeli Politicians Allow Olmert to Remain PM?

.

Commentary;

Caroline Glick, in her column excerpted below, corroborates the math presented here and adds one more factor; the possiblility of 11 Kadima rebels who could constitute “the final hammer blow” which destroys Olmert’s regime and forces new elections.

The big question is; do Israeli politicians have the overriding courage to drive new elections even though, for many, it could mean lost seats? When will the term political courage become more than a laughable oxymoron on the Israeli political scene? MB read more

Hiker Killers Under PA “House Arrest” — Duh!

.
Commentary;

The absurdity of the report below yet again highlights the sorry state of affairs in Israel’s governance and national sovereignty; PA murderers who killed Jews on Jewish land held “in PA custody, effectively confined to their place of employment” = PA revolving-door. MB

Olmert Engages in Psychological “Projection” of Word — Disgrace

.

Commentary;

Michael Freund puts Olmert’s word “disgrace” in real perspective. The question is; who is a disgrace? The youth who love and cleave to Hashem’s legacy to B’nai Yisrael — the Land of Israel? Or an etrogized power-abusive Prime Minister lacking elective mandate and who races to place the nation in dire, mortal and territorial peril in order to evade legal judgement for his own dereliction of leadership (Lebanon conflict) and his personal, political corruption, graft and moral turpitude? Lieberman Quits Government, All Eyes on Shas, Rav Ovadia

.

Commentary;

The math is this simple; with Yisrael Beiteinu in the government, the regime controlled 78 Knesset seats. Without Lieberman’s 11 member faction, the number stands at 67. IF Shas follows suit and its 12 MKs leave, the Olmert regime falls to 55; below the majority of 61 needed to govern. Meretz, with their 5 seats could join but Olmert would still be short of majority by one seat. Meretz, with their concerns over the handling of the Lebanon conflict as well as economic concerns, might also not join, but support Olmert’s division of Jerusalem from the outside. read more
