Israel: “Vibrant Business Climate”, Low Quality Governance

.
Commentary;

Managing Partner and co-founder of NGN Capital Ken Abramowitz spoke out sentiments at the Jerusalem conference that many of us have known for quite some time when he contrasted Israel’s booming, “vibrant business climate” and its high level of competence with Israel’s abysmally “low quality” of national leadership and governance. Shas Latest Variation: Will Leave “if Negotiations Continue”

.

“I say, We’ve been punked”

Commentary;

No, Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick is not the only one getting “punked.” Rav Ovadia and all of the Jews are getting “punked” daily .

It looks as if Israel National News has picked up on this blog’s assertion that Shas has now totally sacked it’s solemn promise “to quit if talks begin regarding Jerusalem.” Apparently, Yishai and his politicians have overruled their Torah Leader and their Torah Sages. read more

Shas Concedes Jerusalem Talks Took Place, Despite Threat?

.

Commentary;

Eli Yishai and the Shas party are looking more foolish, inept and incapable by the day.

Yishai has repeatedly promised to topple Olmert and his coalition the moment that they begin trying to bargain away Yerushalayim. R’ Ovadia Yoseph has mandated this promise.

Despite all of Ehud Olmert’s deceit and broken promises, Shas continues to remain in the Olmert government.

Now we find Yishai making a grievously ridiculous statement;

“…If negotiations on Jerusalem continue, Shas will immediately leave the government.” read more

Another Ill-Conceived Conflict; Goal: Multinational Force, Not Victory

Commentary;

Will a Gaza conflict be a replay of Olmert’s 2006 summer Lebanon conflict? Has Israel’s military strategy of winning a war and vanquishing an enemy sworn to our destruction, so degraded in recent years to the point of fighting a conflict with the goal being introduction of international forces with their record impairing and further degrading Israel’s military capability as well as degrading Jewish national sovereignty? Parsha Ki Tisa 5768 — Principle vs Peer Group

.

by Moshe Burt

For many years, since 1991 when Parsha Ki Tisa marked my son Philip’s Bar Mitzvah, I have spoken or written about a posuk in our Parsha which alludes to an event which took place 40 year later, in a subsequent Parsha.

The posuk being referred to (Sh’mos, Perek 30, posuk 30)says that while Moshe Rabbeinu was on Har Sinai being given Torah, Hashem said, “You shall anoint Aaron and his sons and sanctify them to minister (to serve) me.”

This seemingly obscure posuk which pops up in a couple of slightly different forms in both Parsha Tetzaveh and in our Parsha raises a challenging question which cuts to the chase of what we are facing today. The question is; what about that Pinchas Ben Elazar? Why was he not anointed as a Kohen with his brothers? read more
