Parsha Re’eh begins with the B’nai Yisrael assembled on Mount Gerizim and Mount Eval. Moshe Rabbeinu continues his mussar saying, “Behold, I set before you … a blessing and a curse; the blessing if you heed the commandments of Hashem, and the curse, if you will not observe his commandments.(Sefer Devarim, Perek 11, posukim 26-27)
The Haftorah for our Parsha begins, “Nachamu, Nachamu Ami yomar Elokeichem” — “Comfort, comfort my people — says your G’d.” (Yishaiya, 40:1) This sentiment seems to be silent, but yet a theme of Parsha Va’etchanan.
In the beginning of Parsha, Moshe Rabbeinu recalls for the B’nai Yisrael how he entreated Hashem for permission to cross the Jordan River but that his request was denied. Instead, he was consoled by viewing the Land from Mount Pisgah. (L’lmod Ul’Lamed – Parsha Va’etchanan, page 161)
Analysis: Bad Timing for the IDF’s PR Battle

Sometimes in life it is all a question of timing and on Tuesday it didn’t work right for the IDF. Just hours before the military planned to exonerate itself as a result of the investigation into the explosion that killed seven Palestinians on a Gaza beach on Friday, two Palestinian children were killed alongside six other innocent civilians. This time the responsibility fell directly on Israel’s shoulders.
Commentary;
This is a Perfect Example of how Israel’s MSM Places higher Value on lives of “Palestinian(sic)” civilians, as “the brave freedom fighters” exploit them, hiding among them for cover; rather than on the lives of Jewish civilians living in the south who are subjected to the daily Kassam and shelling blitz.
“If We Need to Cut Electricity, Cut Off Gaza First”

Referring to yesterday’s power outages, MK Eliyahu Gabbai of the NRP stated earlier today: “If we urgently need to cut off the electricity, we should cut off Gaza first and plunge Shechem and Jenin into darkness. Israeli citizens and the country’s economy should not be harmed by a lack of electricity while the enemies of the state enjoy a steady electricity supply.”
Mr. Gabbai added, “The electricity supply in Sderot will be cut off, putting the red dawn early warning system in jeopardy, while in Gaza everyone continues to burn their electric lights while firing their missiles.”
Amnesty International Slams Israel’s ‘Unlawful Acts’
Excerpt;
The IDF killed 190 Palestinians, including 50 children. “Many were killed unlawfully, in deliberate and reckless shootings, shelling and air strikes in densely populated residential areas or as a result of excessive force,” AI charged.
Commentary;
Another expresssion of Israel MSM’s slanted, bias, anti-Israel reporting.
And what about Israel’s right to defend the Jews being shot and stoned drive-by terrorists and blitzed by Kassams and Katushyas? And what about her sensitivity toward civilians manifested in the nonsensical shelling of empty fields in order to save enemy civilian lives?
