Parsha Vayeira 5772: Prayer and Stark Contrasts Between Actions of Avraham, Sodom, and Israel in 5772

by Moshe Burt

Our Parsha opens with Hashem, as we understand, visiting Avraham Aveinu on the 3rd day after Bris Milah, when Avraham was at the height of his pain following the circumcision, as Rashi indicates, “to inquire about his welfare.” (Metsuda Linear Chumash rendering of Rashi on Perek 18, posuk 1)

It’s not like Hashem needed to pay a visit to ascertain Avraham’s actual condition. Hashem is the Creator, The Master, The Ruler over the world who knows and is aware of everything. And so, as Hashem visited to inquire as to Avraham’s wellbeing, Avraham pardoned himself from Hashem when he spotted 3 travellers inviting them into his tent. read more

Livni on Olmert Dividing Jerusalem, Expelling 60,000 Jews: Denial or Total Tandem?

.
Commentary;

The Jerusalem Post’s Gil Hoffman reports on Foreign Minister and Kadima party prime ministerial candidate Tzipi Livni’s denial of involvement with the concessions revealed in acting-prime minister Olmert’s recent Yediot Aharonot interview as having allegedly been made by the two of them during negotiations with PA president Mahmoud Abbas:

Will someone please tell this author how these two statements differ:

Olmert reported statement to US envoy George Mitchell:

He and Livni agreed to divide Jerusalem, maintain only settlement blocs in the West Bank and uproot 60,000 Jews from their homes. read more

Prime Minister Olmert Thinks We’re All Stupid

.

Commentary;

Anyone with an ounce of common-sense, who has followed events in Israel; i.e. Rabin and Peres’ talks, Netanyahu’s talks, Sharon’s, who knows Syria’s track record for years knows and understands that for talks to take place, indirect or otherwise, the actualization of “The Syrians know what we want and we know what they want” would have to have been committed.

Olmert even admits this actualization later stating that;

“He could prove that all four of the previous prime ministers had held negotiations with Syria and had been ‘ready to offer extremely painful concessions.'” read more

Olmert Regime’s Appeasement Concessions Demoralize IDF

.
Commentary;

The Olmert-Livni-Barak regime’s “confidence-building” appeasement concessions to Abbas and the Palestinian Authority impairs and demoralizes IDF counterterror capabilities thus setting in place yet another self-fulfilling prophesy, such as in Gaza where the regime states that “there is no defense against the rockets” which translated means that they lack the moral strength, courage and resolve to completely vanquish it’s enemy.

Ehud Olmert has been cited numerous times on this blog as stating; read more

Merkel’s Knesset Speech: Olmert Regime Goes Along With Farce

.
Commentary;

Near the end of Caroline Glick’s article below, she suggests three things that Israel do to express a power game; Use of her economic leverage by virtue of technological prowess, impressing on the Germans and the other Europeans that Israel possesses considerable military power (despite the Lebanon fiasco of two years ago) and will use it to defeat its enemies and exposition of “Europe’s humanitarian and pro-peace rhetoric as a hypocritical sham” meant to cover over both their long-engrained disdain, if not outright hatred for Jews, as well economic and diplomatic appeasement of the Islamic world. read more

Dual Standard: Protexia Olmert Sends Others to Fight While Sons Evade

.
Commentary;

While nearly every other previous Israeli prime minister, defense minister, etc. who had sons sent them to fight the nation’s wars alongside their fellow Jews, Ehud Olmert is truly the paradigm protexia-class leader who sends his sons to evade their national duty. How dare he therefore refer to those who settle the land and who are willing to fight for it a disgrace! We have a prime minister who is an abject disgrace — boastful, incompetent leadership and total lack of moral leadership. He psychologically projects his own disgrace onto those of the governed who oppose him. MB read more

Regime Posturing and Backing Down: It’s Beyond Embarrassing

.

Commentary;

The repeated saber-rattling of the Olmert-Livni-Barak regime has long-since passed way beyond embarrassing. Each episode of saber-rattling, of talking the talk, is inevitably followed shortly thereafter by these incompetent, self-serving political hacks backing down out of fear, intimidation by, and subserviance to the superpower. Without a belief-based rooting, these irreligious so-called “leaders” are thus disabused of “walking the walk.”

And so what results is, as with the Lebanon conflict, a hodge-podge, hit-or-miss set of aims and goals far beneath TOTAL Victory and vanquishment of the enemy sworn to vanquish and decimate us. As this blog has repeatedly noted, the goal of the regime is to bring international forces to Gaza, as with Lebanon. And, as any thinking person knows; international “peacekeeping” forces lack total credibility based on past record. read more

From the 2000 Camp David Summit: Barak’s Jerusalem Division Map

Commentary;

This author, and many others, have received this message from Pini Itzchaky, advisor to Shas Chaver Knesset Atias, in response to the ongoing email bombardment of Shas MKs demanding that they leave the Olmert regime;

The Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert: “It has been said and agreed between me and between the head of the Palestinian Authority Abu Mazen, that Jerusalem that is an important and emotional subject. We will not start this emotional negotiation, which could bring to failure of the talks. We postponed the TIPUL of Jerusalem until the last stage.” read more

Olmert, Livni, Ramon Dividing Jerusalem, Disdainful of Shas

.

Commentary;

The body of evidence that the Olmert, Livni, Ramon troika is dividing Jerusalem at this very moment; as we speak, as we write, continues to grow. And take note that the Jerusalem Post, for some reason, has completely edited out of it’s earlier report these words below spoken by Jerusalem Councilman Nir Barkat in the report’s original form regarding Livni’s responses to his inquiry about secret negotiations on Jerusalem;

Barkat said: “Livni’s letter exposes more than anything the fraudulent peace process led by Ramon and the prime minister. Livni refuses to reveal the vital information she knows, of which I was informed by senior officials, that there is a secret channel led by Haim Ramon and Mohammad Rashid and not by the Foreign Ministry.” read more

After Winograd, Are Olmert’s Troubles Over, or Just Begun?

.

Commentary;

Ehud Olmert spoke last evening before Knesset giving a speech which even Ehud Barak called “cynical and troubling.”

Olmert just squeeked by as less than a majority of 120 Knesset members as Jerusalem Post’s Sheera Claire Frenkel writes;

The Knesset narrowly approved the prime minister’s speech on the Winograd Report, by 59 to 53, with six coalition MKs – Labor’s Ophir Paz-Pines, Shelly Yacimovich, Eitan Cabel and Danny Yatom, and Kadima’s Avigdor Yitzhaki and Marina Solodkin voting with the opposition. The vote was purely symbolic. read more
