Friday War News: Gaza Rocket Attacks Continue, Stolen Israeli Aid — Empty Medicine Bottles Made Explosives, Thrown at IDF, Olmert Spokeman: Schalit or No Gaza Crossings; Stonings Near Jenin, Explosive Seized Near Bethlehem, 2 Terrorists Nabbed near Shechem

.
Commentary:

Will Olmert and Livni get away with imposing a “deal” on the new Israeli government including release of 1,000 terrorists, to return to kill and maim more Jews, in exchange for Gilad Schalit? Meanwhile, “Dumb and Dumber” keep talking appeasement of terror as the violations mount to the current “ceasefire.” MB

“Truce” of Weakness Emboldens Terrorists, Schalit Further From Freedom

.
Commentary;

The Olmert, Kadima, Barak, Livni, Yishai government of weakness, equivocation and partisan convenience has given up the store, the entirety of Israel’s diplomatic and military assets and set back Israel’s credibility to a historic low-point. Their lack of stregnth and principle has netted a minus in all areas, credibility, principle, hasbara and national branding. Gilad Schalit is further from liberation than ever.

Why I Can’t Change My Facebook Picture to Shalit’s

.

Commentary;

Although I want to see kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit freed, back in Israel with his parents, relatives and friends, and pray for it on ever occasion, I have a real big problem with the proliferation of Shalit pictures being posted to profiles on Facebook, MySpace and other social networking sites.

The problem I have is surely not with the act itself which I sincerely believe to be a genuine, sincere grassroots display of unity with and love for a a Jewish brother.

My problem is with the perception and message of these pictures alongside the Israeli government’s actions and mindset of appeasement, equivocation, lack of honor. read more

Why Do Israeli Officials Think They Know Better??

Commentary;

Why do Israeli officials think that they know better? Why do they think they’re sooo smart — especially when they’ve been proven wrong soo many times? Must readers be reminded; the Yom Kippur War intelligence failures, the withdrawal from South Lebanon in 2000, the Oslo accords, the Wye Agreement and 2 years ago, Expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif and 4 Shomron towns which was supposed to end terror emanating from Gaza.

And let us not forget about these so-called smart experts and their agreement with Egypt about monitoring the Gaza Crossings, the total unpreparedness in last summer’s Lebanon conflict of all levels of Israeli military and governance and these smart guys’ dependence and reliance upon upon 3rd party forces and “guarantees” during the past year subsequent to the conflict. read more

Parsha Korach 5767: Leadership; National Responsibility vs the Euphemisms of Self-Interest

by Moshe Burt

This Parsha HaShevua may seem to the reader a continuation of Parsha Shelach. This is done by intention because it seems very much as if Korach and his attempted power grab are a logical aftermath of the denial of Eetz Yisrael by 10 of the 12 miraglim (spies).

The Sefer “Torah Gems” by Aharon Yaakov Greenberg states the following thought; “Now took Korach…”; that Korach was blessed with many positive attributes: fine lineage, wisdom, qualities worthy of a leader of B’nai Yisrael. “‘Now took Korach — he took himself.’ He did not wait until he was offered the leadership, but he sought to take it by force. That is why he is not worthy of it.” (Torah Gems, by Aharon Yaakov Greenberg, Parsha Korach, Volume 3, page 79.) read more

Another Olmert Abrogation of Israel’s National Sovereignty?

The relatively well-armed Badr Division is loyal to the Fatah faction, and the hope in the US is that the additional troops will help buttress Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ strength in the territories against Hamas.” read more

Kadima: Both the Patron and Recipient of a Nation in Denial …

This past Thursday, Barak at IRIS Blog posted selected quotes from a column written by Evelyn Gordon, Kadima: The Teflon Political Party.

These two IMRA articles below are companions for the Gordon article in that, just as when Mofaz, during the run-up to the expulsion in Gush Katif told “… his generals that working too vigorously to fortify Negev communities will weaken public support for the disengagement”, “… in the 20 months since then, not only has the work not been completed; in most communities, it has not even begun.” read more
