Excerpts;

“On February 1, 2006, Shevat 3, Rachel’s Children Reclamation Foundation hosted a wonderful shiur at our house, Beit Bnei Rachel adjoining Kever Rachel by a corridor the army had us build on what we named Derech Chaya Rachel. Atara Gur spoke to a group of women about the Jewish Mother who was buried “on the way”. She spoke of Rachel’s ohel in Beis Lechem as a house of bread, provisions, family, unity as presented in a special Siddur Rachel Imeinu, compiled in 1911 by a Yerushalimi. It was sad and demeaning to have been blocked from traveling directly via Hevron Road as was the custom or Jewish Pilgims for 3600 years. It was inspiring and comforting to learn of Rachel’s midos and the prognosis for a better world.”

Female Soldier Punished for Talking With Yesha Girls
Full Text;
“A female IDF soldier has been disciplined for answering a group of girls who criticized soldiers. The incident in question occurred as they rode together on a civilian bus towards Beit El.”
“The soldier was talking with a group of girls who were returning from last week’s demonstration in Jerusalem protesting the vicious manner in which the Amona outpost had been evacuated.”
“The soldier was warned by a female IDF officer, who was also on the bus, not to talk to the girls. The soldier ignored the warning and continued her conversation. She told the officer that there was no rule against talking with residents of Yesha and that she was in favor of doing so. “

Parsha Yithro 5766: Awaiting Just Law, Enforcement and Justice …
By, Moshe Burt
We read each day in Pesukei D’Zimrah (The praises of G’d), “He balks at the designs of peoples. Many designs are in man’s heart, but the counsel of Hashem — only it will prevail.”
We watched as a bullying, hard-hearted Prime Minister bulldozed through his hateful, vindictive expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif in those fateful days in August, 2005 as his opponents stood divided against themselves, seemingly handcuffed as the fate of thousands of Gush Katif residents hung in the balance while the old General divided, conquered and forced the expulsion’s actualization.

High Homeless Numbers for Expulsion Refugees
Full Text;
“According to a report by the Committee of Gaza Settlements, almost a third of the refugees from the expulsion of Jewish communities from Gaza are still homeless.“
“Figures provided by the Disengagement Authority and the Committee show that some thirty percent of the 8,000 Jews who were forced out of their homes last summer are still living in hotels, some entire families in school dormitories and even tents.“
“The two agencies agreed on little else, however. Despite some progress in finding sites for the communities to re-establish themselves, the jobless rate for the refugees remains high.“
