Labor official: Disengagement Will Lead to Expulsion of Government

A senior Labor party official said Wednesday that Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will be making a major mistake if he includes Yisrael Beitenu’s Avigdor Lieberman in any coalition.
Olmert is set to receive the official summons from President Moshe Katzav today to form the next government. He has said he will include Lieberman in his new coalition.
“Olmert is acting foolishly,” said the source quoted by Haaretz news service. “In order to bring Lieberman in, he is blurring the guidelines and not mentioning the convergence at all.”
The official said that as soon as Olmert moves ahead with his plan to set permanent borders, evacuating more than 25 Yesha communities in the process unilaterally if necessary, he will lose the government. He warned Lieberman will resign if Olmert procedes with what is now referred to as the “convergence plan”, and will take the Shas and United Torah Judaism parties with him, toppling the government.
