Friday, Shabbos War News: At Least 9 Unanswered Gaza Terror Rockets Hit South Israel, Arabs Stone Israeli Bus Near Hebron

.
Commentary:

40 Days until Pesach is a long time in terms of the ability of the Olmert-Livni-Barak troika to further damage Israel either by their actions visa vi Mahmud Abbas or by their inactions such as, leaving at least 9 terror rockets over Friday and Shabbos unanswered and going silent as Gaza terror rockets continue to bombard southern Israel rather than finishing the job of Operation Cast Lead. How long will Bibi dawdle in forming a new government and will he place people with clean hands and hearts in charge of the Defense and Foreign ministries rather than the likes of Avigdor Lieberman — the land swapper

Speaking of Lieberman though, this author just hate political nuances. But regarding Lieberman’s advocating the establishment of a Palestinian state; are we jumping the gun and missing something?

Here’s Lieberman’s own political nuance which might just negate whatever he seems to be saying. He keeps on using and reiterating “a viable Palestinian state.”

The key word which could be negating the words that come after it is the term “viable.”

Since there seems to be no prospect in the offing or in the forseeable future of even the possibility of such viability (at least by our standards), it seems to me that “viable” renders the entire phrase meaningless, irrelevant and merely an exercise in political semantics which Lieberman perceives, as making himself sound politically correct to the left-of-center, to Obama and Clinton, etc. — a perception probably incorrect.

Once again, to repeat; this author just hate political nuances. Hopefully, this is not naivete and we don’t want to slide down that slippery road of nuance and semantics.

Caroline Glick checks in, for better or for worse, with her selections for Defense and Foreign Ministry; in the personages of Natan Sharansky and Moshe Ya’alon. Although neither has a spotless rightist record, either one or both of them are head-and-shoulders above Lieberman, not to mention Livni or Barak. MB
