Parsha Beha’aloscha 5768 — Real Leadership and HaKaras HaTov

.

by, Moshe Burt

Our Parsha speaks about the reasons for the separate section delineated by the inverted “nuns” — “When the Aron (the Ark) would journey, Moshe said, ‘Arise Hashem, and let your foes be scattered, let those who hate you flee from before you.’ And when it rested, he would say, ‘Reside tranquilly, O, Hashem, among the myriad thousands of Israel.'” (Sefer Bamidbar, Perek 10, posukim 35-36)

Preceding these posukim are the posukim which speak about the journey of the Aron and of B’nai Yisrael from Har Sinai to their next resting place, …a three day distance…” (Sefer Bamidbar, Perek 10, posukim 33 & 34). read more

Olmert’s Ongoing Flip-Flop on Demographics

.

Commentary;

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has often claimed in recent years, citing and cleaving to P.A. (sic) demographics data, that Israel must hand over lands to the Arabs out of fear that the Arabs will essentially destroy Israel by out-numbering the Jews. These claims have again and again been been found irrefutably overstated by at least 1.5 million by evidence presented by demographics experts Bennett Zimmerman, Roberta Seid, Michael Weiss and Yoram Ettinger.

But, in doing a search of YouTube videos looking for different information, this author stumbled upon this Nightline interview which took place over 20 years ago with both then MK Ehud Olmert and Rabbi Meir Kahane, z’l. In that interview, Ehud Olmert attempts to refute Rabbi Kahane by saying that the chances of the Arabs outnumbering the Jews is remote. read more

The Six Day War: Is IDF as Capable Now vs Arab Foes as They Were Then?

.

Commentary;

Below is a YouTube video on the Six Day War.

After viewing it, compelling questions arise on this the 41st anniversary of that momentous and historic event; Is the IDF as capable now of fighting and devastating her Arab Islamic foes in war as they were then? Did we hear in those days arguments such as “nothing can be done about Kassam and mortar attacks” without endangering Israeli lives, short-range missile interception systems as a substitute for human military action, or that it is preferential to not strike terrorists for fear of harming “innocents”? read more

Mofaz Likud Departure Farce Recalled

.

Commentary;

As Shaul Mofaz gears up to contest for the Prime Ministership, a job he is wholly unqualified for, but which he may just fall into by virtue of the Shas party’s undying love of “Almighty Cash,” Israel National News’ Hillel Fendel remembers Mofaz’s totally undignified and laughable departure from Likud within days before Sharon’s strokes and resultant incapcitation and vegetation, which proved out to be no blessing for him (Mofaz).

So too, this blog recalls here and here Mofaz’s dead-of-the-night jump to Kadima in December, 2005, even as he sent an appeal letter to Likud voters to support him in their primary while having one foot out of the Likud door. MB read more
