Mercaz HaRav Terrorist: Arrested by IDF, Released After 2 Months

.

Commentary;

The file on the Olmert regime’s malfeasance, nonfeasance, irresponsibility and abject neglect of the nation’s security is bulging in the case of the Islamic murderer who perpetrated the Thursday night pogrom at the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva.

Here is what we know to date;

1/ Barak of IRIS cites a Jerusalem Post report that the terrorist;

Alaa Abu Dhein was arrested by defense forces four months ago and then released two months later.

The [His] family say that he used to work as a driver at the institution.

Police however state, in a report today, that Abu Dhein “is not known to the security forces” and that he “did not meet the typical profile of Palestinian attackers.”

Further, while denying that Abu Dhein worked for the Yeshiva, the police confirmed that “the gunmen drove students to school for a living.”

The question then is, why was Abu Dhein arrested in the first place?

And, as driver of students to the Yeshiva, he had motive for being there and thus apparently had freedom of movement to conduct surveillance of the Yeshivain order to plan the means to attack it.

2/ The murderer lived in East Jerusalem and thus held an Israeli ID card that allows its holder freedom of movement.

3/ DEBKAfile alleges in an 8 March report that;

Two Palestinians were frightened away from another Jerusalem yeshiva, Porath Yosef, on March 2. The pair were challenged March 2 by armed security guards on the door and they are still at large.

The Jerusalem police failed to sound the alarm after the guards reported the incident.

4/ As noted on this blog last evening, the murderer attacked the Mercas HaRav Yeshiva students with a Kalatchnikov automatic weapon according to the student of the Yeshiva who carries a weapon and who shot the terrorist. The student noted; the weapon used in the murderous pogrom was one that “President Peres had authorized” for distribution by 10s of thousands to the PA as part of the Oslo travesty.

That the terrorist Alaa Abu Dhein was arrested, held for a short time and released, points up the flaws of an evolution of revolving-door “justice” where Islamic terrorists are incarcerated for short periods of time and then released, presumably with other “confidence building” prisoner releases which inevitably lead to more Jewish casualties and fatalities. Meanwhile, Jews are incarcerated, prosecuted, persecuted for their attachment to their homes and their land and thus opposing the regime.

If point 3 is as DEBKAfile asserts, then police and the government are guilty of withholding an urgent call for increased security at all Yeshivas which might have facilitated the placement of guards at the entrance to the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva.

Shimon Peres noted in a February, 2002 speech to a delegation of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Orginizations;

Guns don’t fire, people do. Clearly, the real problem we are having is not guns, but suicide bombers.

But did it ever occur to President Peres that pogroms such as that perpetrated at the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva result from putting the tools for murder in the hands of potential murderers? That is the exact result ordained by making such weapons readily available, in large supply, to those very murderers-in-waiting. The manifestations of Peres’ “confidence-building” gifts to the enemy, of the police and the regime’s gross negligence in all aspects and levels of national security, was the slaughter of Jews this past Thursday evening.
