PM Olmert in JP Interview Indicates Pal State Not for Peace or Security – but Voting Rights, by Dr. Aaron Lerner (IMRA)

Full Text;

PM Olmert doesn’t even try to insult the intelligence of JP readers by claiming that creation of a sovereign Palestinian state would bring either peace or security – just a way to address the question of Palestinian voting rights.

It wasn’t so long ago that Olmert, Peres and Rabin were confident that there was a viable solution to the challenge of providing the Palestinians with voting rights without creating a sovereign Palestinian state that could ultimately destroy Israel: Palestinian autonomy.

At the same time, he made clear that he did not envisage a permanent accord along the ’67 lines, describing Ma’aleh Adumim as an “indivisible” part of Jerusalem and Israel.
