The secretary of the newly established Wingrad Commission to investigate the government’s behavior in the recent war has been found to have been a leading activist on behalf of the ruling Kadima party during last elections.

Menachem Ben Chaim was active in leading volunteer efforts on behalf of Kadima during the previous elections, according to an expose in today’s Yediot Acharonot newspaper.

“It is impossible to have a political activist involved in the investigation of the head of his own party,” Rabbi Yitzchak Levy wrote in a letter of protest calling upon Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to disqualify Ben Chaim from serving on the commission due to conflict of interest.

Ben Chaim denied being a member of any political group.
