PMO: The World Will See Who the Aggressor is and Will Understand Us…

Jerusalem Expects Cease-fire Deal to Fail, by Gil Hoffman

Excerpts;

Israel intends to abide by the cease-fire when it takes effect on Monday morning, even though senior Israeli officials assume that Hizbullah will not honor it, officials close to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said on Sunday night.

The officials said the working assumption at the Prime Minister’s Office was that Hizbullah would not honor the agreement and that the world would then comprehend Israel’s predicament more than ever. At press time, the Lebanese cabinet had not given final approval to the cease-fire.

“When Hizbullah violates the cease-fire, the world will see who the aggressor is and will understand us,” a source close to Olmert said. “We will insist that the agreement be implemented. It’s a good agreement for Israel and Hizbullah’s opposition is proof.”

Commentary;

The absurd statements of this government (hereafter I call regime — which is what it is) such as those bolded above or contained in this story; Livni Talks of “Moment of Truth” for International Community don’t cease. They are spinning it as a “victory” when, in fact, headlines such as this one yesterday; PM: Israel to Talk with Hezbollah Over Release of Abductees, By Aluf Benn (Haaretz) are a sure sign to this author of the Cease-Fire being Israel’s Bill of Defeat, of Surrender. (Title of article and its text were subsequently changed by Haaretz to “Families of abducted soldiers ‘ disappointed’ by UN resolution” probably to remove incriminating evidence) before spinning the war as “victory”) indicate clearly that Israel’s political, governmental echelons and top wrung Military leaders bear responsibility for loss of the war.

But back to this particular story — Jerusalem expecting cease-fire to fail.

First of all, while the Olmert government spins on about “Hizbullah’s opposition” to the cease-fire, the fact of matter is that Hezbollah IS in favor of the cease-fire and has declared victory as well as documented here and here.

How long does it take, how many run-ins with the UN, the EU, the French, etc. does it take in order to realize that the world couldn’t care less about Israel, that latent (and by the very definition of anti-semitism) irrational Anti-Semitism* drives every UN action, that Kofi Anan is not going to turn around and do T’shuva toward the Jews, that the whole history of Israel’s modern-day existence from the time of the British Mandate was an “even-handed” approach whereby the same set of rules and restrictions were set forth for Jews and Arabs and yet in their application; Jews were unreasonably restricted (i.e. immigration) and the Arabs got away with every abuse of Mandate law and abused, killed, terrorized and persecuted Jews at will without any type of legal consequences.

The precedents of Mandate Law, the covering over or deep-sixing any commitment toward “keeping peace” where it concerns Israel have continued to this day, everywhere that UN or other so-called “peacekeeping forces” are or were deployed; Chevron, the border with Syria, Sinai, Gaza and the Lebanese border.

Why now, do Olmert, Livni, Peretz, Peres, Halutz, etc. expect that the world will now see the light when there have been countless past opportunities and that the UN and the world will rescue them from their own incompetence and malfeasance in office?

Headlines such as the featured one above, as well as the ones beneath it, ought to be an outrage to thinking Jews. Not for an instant does this author believe that Olmert, Livni, Peretz, Peres, Halutz, etc. are in any way naive. IMHO, a political agenda drives them.

We learn countless times, countless sources, countless Chachim through the ages what the definition of what a Jew is; separate and distinct, not to be reckoned with as with the nations. We are G’ds “favored nation’ and with that favor comes responsbilities far beyond the 7 Noachide Laws, the laws that the world is proscribed by G’d to live by.

We have 613 laws, together with subsidiary laws within these 613 and a proscription to live not merely to the letter of the law, but lifnim mishurat Hadin (beyond the letter of the Law),

In this author’s opinion, the political agenda which drives the above individuals and many others like them in the political, governmental echelons is to separate Israelis from their Jewishness, from their spirituality, from their Holy Places, from Jewish history. This drive is blind, it is compulsive, it is as irrational as anti-semitism* as it drives them to subordinate national survival, national security, national well-being to an insane battle with the Divine to lose Eretz Yisrael, or the bulk of it, even at the cost of national destruction.

It is an insane drive to facilitate a secular Ghettoisation along Israel’s narrow coastline between Haifa and Tel Aviv and to dispense with all else. MB

*A definition of Anti-Semitism:

Every Jew, as his own leader, if he thinks deeply enough, must come to the inescapable conclusion that the Arab’s irrational lust for death to the Jew and destruction of the State of Israel emanates from Shemayim, as a form of what’s written in Parsha Toldos. There, Yaakov Aveinu, in his remaining Bracha for Eisev said, “…your brother you shall serve; yet it shall be that when you are aggrieved, you may cast off his yoke from upon your neck.” (Sefer Breish’t, Perek 27, posuk 40) Rabbi Artscroll renders Rashi “when you are aggrieved as meaning “If Israel ever transgresses Torah, and is thus underserving of dominion, you will have a right to be aggrieved that he has taken your blessing and you may cast off his yoke from your neck.” (Artscroll, Stone Chumash page 141: Rashi on Sefer Breish’t, Perek 27, posuk 40)
