PM: Israel to Talk with Hezbollah Over Release of Abductees, By Aluf Benn (Haaretz)

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that Israel will negotiate with Hezbollah over the release of Israel Defense Forces soldiers Eldad Regev and Udi Goldwasser, abducted on July 12.
Olmert met with the abductees’ parents in Jerusalem Sunday.
The UN resolution on cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon calls for the unconditional release of the abducted Israeli soldiers, but is not included as a binding section in the resolution.
A senior diplomatic source said Israel has no information on the fate of Regev and Goldwasser, but it is assumed they are still alive. The source said the IDF has launched high-risk operations to obtain information on the abductees, but they were all unsuccessful.
The source said also that Israel did not condition the cease-fire on the release of the soldiers because it would have led to the continuation of the fighting and the loss of more life.
Commentary;
Despite the Litani campaign, apparently too little, too late, it looks very much to this observer as if the Olmert Regime in the name of Israel, in the name of the Jews, has prostrated themselves and have sued for “peace (piece),” for surrender.
The surest dead give-away seems to be this article which I have posted to IRIS, and it’s last sentence which I am going to bold. You can take the blod off if you want, but IMHO, it must be made to stand out like an infected thumb or big toe.
And perhaps by the regime’s gross incompetence and mismanagemnt of the war, they may have demoralized the IDF, even to such an extent as to bully Jews rather than fighting a war to win.
Let the facts be known; that the grunts, the junior officers didn’t lose this war.
Rather, it was their commanders, with their political debts, career tracks and blind, unthinking allegiances to the Sharons, Olmerts, Peres’s, the Halutz’s and to uprooting Jews; as well as the abovementioned cheap political hacks themselves who should rightly be made to bare their immense responsibilities for this brutal military defeat, to draw the necessary conclusions for themselves and to leave the governing and command sectors for all time. But then again, not one of the abovementioned has an ounce of moral shame within them. MB
