Olmert: Realignment in One Step

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he wanted to carry out West Bank withdrawal in one single step, which he believes will be less traumatic for the Israeli public.
In an exclusive Shavuot interview with Yedioth Ahronoth, Olmert said: “I want to clarify that I am opposed to dividing the realignment into stages. This process will be difficult and painful even if it goes smoothly. I think carrying it out in stages will traumatize the public, and I have mentioned before that I am opposed to this.”
Regarding the realignment, Olmert said, “we will try to establish an infrastructure of international understanding, aiming to bring about borders…by concentrating Jewish communities and creating a contiguous Palestinian-governed territory. At a certain stage, there will be maps too. What is a plan? A plan is what you have in your head. In my head I have a plan. I don’t know it to a 1-mm resolution, but I certainly know what I want. We need to be patient.”
Commentary;
Olmert’s thinking is sooo twisted as to be absurd. Firstly, the $10 Billion he wants from the US but won’t get a red penny of doesn’t begin to cover expenses and adequate compensation for those expelled. Secondly, He’d need hundred’s of thousands of cops to get this done — more billions which he won’t get from Uncle. Figure it out; 40,000 police and soldiers to expel 9,000 Jews of Gush Katif and the 4 Shomron towns. Extrapolate that to between 50,000 to 100,000 Jews in Yehuda and the Shomron and 40,000 becomes 200,000 to 400,000 police and soldiers. The police can’t maintain patrols in the rest of the country while mobilizing in 1 central location YESHa in order to do this. And Jews are not now entusiastically enlisting to Border Gaurds and Mishmar Ezrachi which they know would be employed in a move like this.
Prediction: The police will be stretched to the breaking point and beyond. The Jews Will Bring Nation to Halt … This sick Frankenstein invention of a hateful, spiteful dictator won’t happen. It is impossible. But ALL of the Jews MUST be mobilized and unified to insure the abject failure of “realignment.”
