Does anyone get a kind of Deja Vu feeling about this report? Does it kind of bring back memories; Sadat and Begin in 1977? A report received publicity, in the midst of Sadat’s trip to Jerusalem and speech before Knesset, that Sadat’s trip was repayment to Menachem Begin for Israeli Intelligence apparently providing Egypt with information resulting in the foiling of an assassination attempt on Sadat.
One can only wonder, in view of the timing and the announced Olmert/Abbas meeting upon Olmert’s return from the US, what the implications and consequences might be for Israel of a possible “payback”. MB
