Sharon to Remain Part of Kadima Campaign

“Kadima leaders are unwilling to change the party election slogan and they will continue with “Kadima [moving forward] with Sharon,” despite the prime minister remaining comatose, on a respirator in a Jerusalem hospital.”
“Kadima leaders realize Sharon’s affiliation with the party is an electoral plus, as reflected in the polls. Kadima officials have tried to place Sharon at the end of the lineup list, as a symbolic gesture, but that plan was abandoned when election officials explained the candidate himself must sign the registration form. Mr. Sharon is not capable of signing his name at present.”
“Kadima in Friday’s Dialogue Poll lost a number of seats for the first time in recent weeks, with some analysts attributing this to Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s hard-line policies against unauthorized outposts in Judea and Samaria.”
