Police Recommend Indicting Hanegbi; A-G to Decide

“The Israel Police recommended to the state prosecutor’s office on Wednesday that interim Likud party Chairman Tzahi Hanegbi be indicted for making illegal political appointments when he was environment minister from 2001 to 2003.”
“After reviewing the investigative file into the Hanegbi case, Attorney General Menahem Mazuz will make the decision whether or not to indict him, Israel Radio reported.”
Likud Chairman Hanegbi Defects to PM’s Kadima

“In a surprise move on Wednesday, cabinet minister Tzachi Hanegbi, the acting chairman of the Likud, left the party to join Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s new Kadima faction. ”
“Hanegbi is expected to formally announce his defection Wednesday afternoon, sources close to Sharon said.”
“On Tuesday, Hanegi slammed the group of Likud rebels at a Likud faction meeting, saying they were ‘always complaining’ and that they ‘drove away Sharon and the [Knesset] mandates.'”
“A member of the rebel group, so called because they opposed Sharon’s Gaza disengagement plan last summer, responded to the outburst by saying that Hanegbi had been ‘behaving strangely.‘”

Mofaz: PM Using Defense Officials as Pawns

And all this time, while you were his Defense Minister in the Sharon Government and were an integral part of his strong-arming Bulldozer which expelled Jews from their homes in Gush Katif, destroyed their lives and which created the Terrorist Monster we now have in Gaza threatening S’derot, Ashkelon and more.
Shaul Mofaz, you were/are part of this, you supported all of this and allowed the military to become politicized..
And now, all of sudden, “Sharon manipulates defense officials.” Who are you trying to fool? Unfortunately, many Israelis suffer from selective amnesia, but this author knows the score very well and still vividly recalls “Rabbi” Mofaz’s “p’sak halacha” that “Gaza is not part of Israel in the Bible.”
Anyone with a grain of intellect has concluded, from Kadima’s get-go, that Mofaz appears as a Sharon Trojan Horse in Likud. With Hanegbi’s defection, Likud has lost one such Trojan Horse, but there are a few more to go. MB
