IDF COS, YESHa Head Outraged as Hilltop Youth Take Off “Kid-Gloves”

Hilltop Youth Condemned by IDF & Settlement Leaders

“Army soldiers involved in removing an unauthorized outpost near Elon Moreh during the predawn hours on Thursday were attacked by the youths, who beat them with their fists and threw objects at them. Deputy Battalion Commander Lt.-Colonel Benny Chick was struck in his face with a flashlight, resulting in swelling and a black eye. He was also attacked by a number of youths who tore his uniform and ripped his ranks off his epaulets.”

“Chick was outraged over their actions as … He explained that he and his troops do their utmost to protect area residents and such behavior was unjustifiable and unacceptable. … Wallerstein concurred and deplored any violence against security forces, even if they use violence against protestors.”

How indignant IDF Chief of Staff and YESHa leader Wallerstein are now that youths previously abused, brutalized and arrested by IDF, police and Yassamnikim have emerged from their aidele meekness and have taken off their kid-gloves.

I guess that Halutz, Chick and Wallerstein, just as the Kippoted Head of Manpower General Stern before them, don’t enjoy being exposed as heartless, cruel, self-agendized individuals that they are.

And by the way, while referring to the Kippoted General Stern, or for that matter, Jonathan Bassi; Rock throwing and verbal abuse seems not be the best remedy against their heartless, callousness. Such actions are frought with legal grief and ramifications.

It seems to me that one cannot prosecute Rabbis and commonfolk for putting these two despicable individuals in Cheirim, in quarantine. I can think to no other more appropriate act than to totally isolate such creatures. When they come to their Shuls or to the Western Wall, the masses should vacate where these individuals are standing. Leave them standing by themselves. Show your total disdain for their despicable acts with your feet and your silence by walking as far away from them as possible. It seems to me that even in the Israel of the Sharon Totalitarian Regime, one cannot be forced to stand next to or have anything to do with a tormentor, a persecutor, a liar or a thief. When these guys come near your daled-amos, make yourselves scarce. Leave them with that lonely, inadequate feeling that they can’t do anything about.
