Let’s see if Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu and their leaders both inside and outside the “Knesset Beltway” have the backbone and moral integrity to back these words with deeds. Further, notice that Yishai specified “2,000 Arab terrorists and prisoners.”

What happens if the number is 1,500? 1,000? 800? 500? 200? 50? Etc.

A leopard cannot change it’s spots. That Israel’s leftist, anti-Torah regime continues to meet with, recognize, fund, arm and pardon terrorists while offering up dangerous “concessions” puts the Jewish people in dire peril and is ever foolhardy and treasonable.

Professor Steven Plaut writes about Maariv columnist Nadav Haetzni and his [Haetzni’s] recent piece wrote which seems to bring the Rabin assassination back from overblown leftist fervor and into some perspective;

Nadav Haetzni is hands down the best columnist and commentator in the Israeli mainstream press. He writes in Maariv, the only Hebrew newspaper having a real semblance of political pluralism.

Unfortunately, Haetzni writes almost always only in Hebrew. He is a prominent lawyer and is the son of longtime activist Elyakim Haetzni. This past weekend Nadav has a superb article in Maariv. This author expands on Lerner’s position — that if the PA terror army is to be destroyed, the cache of weapons eliminated must extend to that supplied by the US, the very weaponry which would have come into play had the alleged PA guards’ assassination plot on prime minister Olmert actually been attempted. read more

‘Knesset Must Ok Principles Declaration’; But, Note Olmert’s Loophole

In the report below, check out Olmert’s fine-print loophole buried on the last lines;

We don’t know if there will be an agreement, what the details of such an agreement will be or if it will be sufficient to bring for Knesset approval.

This Associated Press report on “parlimentary approval” makes that very point;

Mazuz said Olmert qualified that promise by saying that it was not clear the declaration would go far enough to require a vote.

In short, the above quote strongly indicates that Olmert’s loophole is wide enough to drive a division of tanks through, that language of any joint statement or declaration can and will be manipulated such that Olmert would get around presenting it to Knesset for approval. Further, the seemingly vague language would be structured, manipulated and doctored such that Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu would not bolt the government. The teflon Olmert would thus be “home free” to pursue his schemes to further his concessions and relinquishments. MB read more
