Fateful Likud Primaries: Israel — Jewish State or State of all its People?

.

Commentary;

Today’s Likud primary, coming as it is on the heels of the leftist Olmert-Barak-Livni regime’s recent pogrom at the Federman-Tor farm and last Thursday’s pogrom at Beit HaShalom (both at strategic positions between Kiryat Arba and Hevron), constitute a battle for both the Jewish soul and the Likud political, social and diplomatic soul.

The contest is easily as stark in it’s contrasts as these pictures below;

And Benjamin Netanyahu is by no means immune from the tyranny of the current leftist regime, proclaiming on Sunday about those who were living in Beit HaShalom and those who protested against the eviction by their presence; read more

Peace House Eviction: “Shame on us, the Public, for Not Raising… to Prevent it.”

.

Michael Freund comments on today’s Yassamnik/IDF violent eviction of Jews from their Beit HaShalom homes;

Treachery and Tyranny in Hebron, by Michael Freund (Israel National News)

“The Labor party and Kadima are both sagging in the polls, and fear that parties such as Meretz will steal their thunder and their votes.

It was an act of treachery and tyranny by a caretaker government with no mandate and no moral justification.”

Full Text;

Israel’s government today sent the security forces into Beit Shalom in Hebron and forcibly evicted its residents, despite overwhelming evidence that the building was legally purchased from its previous Arab owner. read more

Call for Anshe Chabad to Speak Out on Pollard Clemency

.
Commentary;

These two items hit my email log on Monday and Tuesday and on Wednesday, I started connecting dots.

Rabbi Nahman Holtzberg, father of slain Mumbai Shaliach Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg z’l penned a letter to Olmert pleading that they not evict the Jews from Beit HaShalom. (Monday, 1 Dec 2008)

President Bush penned a condolence letter to the “Chabad-Lubavitch movement.” (Tuesday, 2 Dec., 2008)

Firstly, that Rabbi Nahman Holtzberg, amidst his mourning, saw it urgent and important enough to plead on behalf of his fellow Jews at Beit HaShalom and that the Israeli media — Yediyiot Achronot saw fit to print the letter despite it’s anti-religious, anti-land agenda. read more

Wednesday War/Peace House News: Gaza Rockets, Mortars Fired on Israel, Terrorist Injured in Rocket Misfire, Arabs Stone Jewish Cars as IDF Nabs 14 Terrorists; Peace House Supporters Block Junction, Druze Appeal To Ashkenazi — No IDF to Expel Jews, ZOA Opens Peace House Office

.
Commentary:

This author was told this morning in Shul that more Police shock troops (Yassamnikim) are enroute to Hevron to the Beit HaShalom area. The illegitimate Olmert, Barak, Livni regime is singularly focused only on evicting Jews, to the abject neglect of all else, as more rockets and mortars stream down on Negev communities and Arabs stone Jews cars throughout Yehuda and Shomron.

A subsequent email received says, as follows;

If you have any way to get over to Bet HaShalom now, it seems that now is the time (10 AM). read more

Kadima/Labor Political Rhetoric of de-Legitimizing, de-Humanizing of Jews

.
Commentary:

Amidst his mourning over the loss of his son and daughter-in-law in last week’s Mumbai Chabad House terror attack, Rabbi Nachman Holtzberg issued an urgent plea to outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to stop plans to expel the Jewish residents of the Hevron Peace House.

In his plea, Rabbi Holtzberg beseeched Olmert;

“At the same time we are mourning for our dear children…who merited in their lives and in their deaths to bring wonderful unity to the People of Israel and to bring everyone closer in love and truth, and who were sacrificed on the holy altar of the Almighty before the eyes of every nation, …we plead in every way possible that you not carry out any action that will polarize and cause a schism to the People of Israel, that would cause in the time of mourning of all the People of Israel.” read more

Parsha Vayeitzei 5769: Yaakov and Practical Applications of Compassion and Cruelty

.

by Moshe Burt

In last week’s Parsha Toldos, we learned about Rivka, who rose above an evil environment while internalizing it’s insights and was thus well positioned to urge Yaakov to claim the Bracha, and about Yaakov, the “Ish Tam”. We learn that Yaakov was “totally honest, a man of great integrity” but was also master over the trait of being “tam”, a “‘plain man’, … without trickery. This means that Yaakov did not allow this “Ish Tam” character trait to dominate him. He knew when and where to act otherwise. We knew that from his demand for the birthright from Eisev in exchange for the lentil soup. These traits surely seemed inculcated to Yaakov as a result of Rivka Imeinu’s nurturing. read more

.

Commentary;

Readers of this blog have surely noted the upsurge in Arab provocations; from Gaza, attacks on the IDF, Jewish motorists throughout Yehuda and the Shomron, stabbing attacks and attempts in and near the entrances to Jerusalem and more.

As the Arabs ratchet-up terror throughout Israel; the regime, its police and special police forces, as well as the IDF are totally focused — on harrassing, persecuting, destroying and preparing to evict Jews from legally-aquired Jewish property at Beit HaShalom. read more

“Peace House”, Hevron: Regime Planning Repeat of Amona Brutality?

.

Commentary;

The Israeli Supreme Court ruled on Sunday, rejecting the overwhelming body of conclusive evidence that Beit HaShalom (Peace House) was legally and legitimately purchased by Jews, stating that the decision “allows them [the State] to do so” — to evict the more than 20 families who live there.

In the process, the regime and its MSM (mainstream media) has engaged in a continuous blood-libel again pitting Jew against Jew and dividing B’nai Yisrael against itself as with Gush Katif, as with Amona, as with the destruction of the Federman/Tor Farm and recent events at Har HaBayit. read more

Parsha Vayeira 5769: Stark Contrasts Between Chessed and the Ways of Sodom

.

by Moshe Burt

Our Parsha opens with Hashem, as we understand, visiting Avraham Aveinu on the 3rd day after Bris Milah, when Avraham was at the height of his pain following the circumcision, as Rashi indicates, “to inquire about his welfare.” (Metsuda Linear Chumash rendering of Rashi on Perek 18, posuk 1)

It’s not like Hashem needed to pay a visit to ascertain Avraham’s actual condition for, Hashem is the Creator, The Master, The Ruler over the world who knows and is aware of everything. And so we learn and gain insight from this first posuk as to the Mitzvah of Bikur Cholim; showing, caring, giving strength and encouragement to the ill by visiting and caring about them. read more
