What Olmert Needs to Consider When in D.C., Not Just Addiction to Bosom of U.S. Aid …

Enough Handouts, Aluf Benn

Excerpt;

Here’s an assignment for Tzipi Livni’s Foreign Ministry: to make sure that in the next five years, the CEOs of all the Fortune 500 companies, the 100 presidents of the most prestigious universities, the heads of the most important research institutions and key artists and writers visit Israel; and to ensure that they leave here with joint projects, research plans and plots for new novels. It is possible that they’ll need an encouraging word from their congressman to get them on their planes. But Israel has nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to what it has to offer America, especially when compared to its Arab neighbors. And it will benefit from the closer ties to the most developed economy and educational system in the world. Olmert should think about this, and not only about the list of handouts he’ll ask for from Bush, when he goes to America next month. read more

Olmert Faces Opposition to Lieberman

Probe May Prevent Lieberman Appointment

Commentary;

The fact of the matter is that despite the media spin’s, Olmert’s not having an esy time of it with coalition-building. This author remebers Chaim Ramon’s boast just after elections that Kadima will have a coalition gov’t in place by Pesach. Well fans, the Pesach Seder has come and gone and Olmert is still struggling. It’s not easy when all of the characters are as crooked as the day is long. Dishonesty, duplicity, lack of trustworthiness and integrity cuts both ways! MB read more

A MUST READ! Dayenu: It Would Have Been Enough

A MUST READ! To Ehud Olmert: Dayenu — It Would Have Been Enough, by Bernard J. Shapiro, The Freeman Center

Excerpt;

Dear Friends of Israel:

Like most of you, I am frustrated, angry and depressed over the actions of the Israeli government. We must, however, get over the depression and then use our anger to spur ourselves to greater action on behalf of Israel. EIN BREIRA. In that spirit I offer the following chant or song to sing at demonstrations (slightly abridged from the popular song sung at Passover). Sing the traditional Dayanu, and then the new resistence against the deportation of Jews from Eretz Yisrael Dayanu. Please distribute to your friends for their family Seder this year as widely as possible:..……..With Love of Israel read more

Convergence In 18 Months: Not Without Shas, Gimmel in Coalition and a 10 Billion USD Price Tag, Confederation an Option??

A MUST READ! Olmert Has No Gov’t Without Shas and Agudat Yisrael!, by Hillel Fendel

Excerpts;

“Agudah [United Torah Judaism] is already practically in the government,” they say in Shas, “so why shouldn’t we go in as well?”

“Ehud Olmert can form a government without us,” they say in Agudah, “so let’s at least try to save what we can.”

Wrong! The claim that Olmert has already practically completed forming his convergence-uprooting-expulsion government, and that the hareidi-religious parties are merely an “extra”, is a lie – and if we allow it to go unchallenged, we are liable to find ourselves with tens of thousands more homeless Jews and a bunch of excuses from the religious parties. read more
