Hours after the High Court of Justice upheld the Tal Law IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz slammed the decision, claiming that the burden of serving in the IDF needed to be shared by the entire nation.
“There is no reason why my kids should serve in the army if others don’t serve,” Halutz said at a conference in Beersheba. “It would be fair if it [the burden] was shared by everyone… if they won’t serve in the army then they should do national service or volunteer in their communities.”
Police Permit Peace Now Buses to Continue Towards Maon
Full Text;
Police a short time ago have permitted two buses carrying left-wing Peace Now activists to head towards Maon in the Hevron Hills.
Earlier on Friday morning, police stopped the buses at Gush Etzion Junction, north of Hevron, explaining they do not intend to permit the buses to make their way to Maon where the activists wish to protest the Jewish presence.
After being detained at Gush Junction for a period of time, the buses were permitted to continue on their way.

However each of these events is unique unto itself, yet part of the whole, and affects human beings, our Jewish brethren both here in Israel and throughout the world. More often than not, both in Israel and throughout the world, MSM omits them, both individually and collectively, from the public consciousness both in terms of the impact of the individual event as well as the cumulative effect of the quantity of daily war events. And friends, this is a War, and should be fought as War, and not as a game for personal enrichment, power, aggrandisement as well as an excuse and vehicle for hatred of, bias against and persecution of religious Jews as the current succession of regimes, Rabin, Peres, Netanyahu, Barak, Sharon, Sharon 2 dealt with matters, and how Olmert appears content to handle matters. Court Allows Completion of Fence in Shavei Shomron Area

The High Court of Justice today authorized the completion of the separation barrier protecting the area of the Samaria community of Shavei Shomron. The court affirmed that the completion of the fence is an imperative security need, in light of Shavei Shomron’s exposure to Palestinian Authority infiltrators following Israel’s August withdrawal from northern Samaria.
The High Court rejected the arguments put forth in the petition against the fence by representatives of the Arab villages near the Jewish town. The village representatives claimed that continuation of the fence construction will cause irreversible damage to their residents’ olive groves.
