Kendil was tied to a number of terror attacks, and according to military officials, was planning additional attacks in the center of the country.

Former IDF chief of general staff Moshe Yaalon said Thursday that Israel’s pullout from the Gaza Strip is a failure, saying the plan was conceived to save former prime minister Ariel Sharon from political distress.
“There is no doubt that the disengagement failed. This failure emanates from the fact that the disengagement was essentially based on a doomed idea. It was not the result of thorough strategic analysis but the result of a political distress of his who was prime minister then, Ariel Sharon,” Yaalon told Haaretz.

The group claimed that the house was constructed on Palestinian territory, Army Radio reported. According to Judea and Samaria Police, they waved a Palestinian flag from the building.
Police and IDF troops gathered in the area and were awaiting decisions from the civil administration and the brigade commander.”
High Court Rejects Petition Against Partition Fence in Hevron Hills

The High Court of Justice has rejected a petition filed by the residents of the Hevron Hills community of Sussia against the route of the partition fence pertaining to the area of the army’s new Tarkumiya Checkpoint.
The route of the partition fence places Sussia outside the fence, on the Palestinian Authority (PA) side.
Chief Justice Aaron Barak, Dorit Beinish, and Eliezer Rivlin ruled that the residents of the Jewish community do not have a valid claim, stating the rights of Palestinian Authority (PA) residents are viewed with greater emphasis by the court.
IDF Takes Swath of North Gaza in Bid to End Rocket Fire

A Palestinian man was killed and an Israel Defense Forces soldier was wounded Thursday morning in fierce fighting between troops and gunmen in the northern Gaza Strip in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya.
Hours earlier, a large contingent of IDF infantry and armor units moved into the ruins of three former settlements in northern Gaza in the early hours of Thursday, after Qassam rockets fired from the area hit the southern coastal city of Ashkelon for the second time in two days.

Kassam Rocket Lands Inside Ashkelon for First Time

Despite ongoing IDF operations in the northern Gaza Strip, a Kassam rocket landed Tuesday evening in Ashkelon proper – the first time the city center has witnessed such an attack.
No one was wounded in the attack, despite the fact that the rocket hit a school in a populated area in the south of the city. Children playing soccer outside an Ort school on Rehov Ben Zvi were thrown back by the force of the explosion, witnesses reported, but were unharmed.

Olmert Finally Visits Sederot – for 15 Minutes

After months of constant bombardment from Kasssam rockets, the city of Sederot finally received a visit by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Tuesday morning.
Olmert made the visit on his way to the Negev Conference in Be’er Sheva. He was accompanied by Defense Minister Amir Peretz and other officials.
Olmert met with Mayor Eli Moyal for 15 minutes and then continued on to the conference.
Security Cabinet Approves Deeper Incursion into Gaza

“The Security Cabinet approved a deeper military incursion into the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, following the Kassam that demonstrated a new, longer rage by landing in an Ashkelon school on Tuesday night.
The IDF has been given the green light to enter residential areas , but will not reoccupy the Gaza Strip, an official at the meeting said. A buffer zone will be created in the northern part of the Strip. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because no official statement has been released from the meeting yet. “
