The People’s Commission of Inquiry: General Elections …

The Necessary Accounting By Caroline Glick

“Olmert and his colleagues require the fiction of Abbas as a moderate leader and the fiction of Fatah as a moderate counterweight to Hamas to justify their planned policy of retreating from Judea and Samaria.

It becomes self-evident that both the demand for Olmert, Peretz and Halutz to resign and the demand that an accounting be made of the mistakes that led Israel to its strategic defeat in Lebanon are necessary.

The only way that the proper lessons can be drawn is for the current military and political leadership to be replaced by alternative leaders capable of understanding the nature of the threats that surround us. For both objectives to be achieved, the only commission of inquiry that should be established is the inquiry of the citizens of the state that takes place in general elections.” read more

Preparedness to Expel Jews Vs Total Unpreparedness and Incompetence of Government to Fight Sworn Enemies of Jews…

The First Punic War of Lebanon by Elyakim Haetzni (Israel National News)

When the complaints of reservists reached the media to the effect that the IDF was not able to supply them with, among other things, water, I recalled images from the nightmare of the expulsion from Gush Katif; images of policemen and soldiers wearing their best expulsion outfits, with a stylish, uniform water bottle clipped on their backs. It was another piece of equipment of an organized and well-equipped army – but only for the oppression and expulsion of “the enemy within,” the settlers. read more

More Than Just Olmert Need to Go: Complete Overhaul and Upheaval in Israel Governing Processes A Necessity…

When Will Olmert Realize It’s Time to Go? By Mordechai Gilat (Ynet)

Excerpts;

Ehud Olmert, witnessing the massive protests amassing against him, stuffed his bags with money and flew off to Kiriyat Shmona to distribute it.

He was sure that with his money and promises he would be able to mend the hearts of the country’s northern citizens, but he was wrong. The Mayor and members of the Kiryat Shmona city councils didn’t accept his performance. The rich uncle from Jerusalem came to hand out candy to the kids, but in response, they explained that the country had abandoned them. read more

Mean Meir — Justice Minister?

PM Appoints Sheetrit Justice Minister

Commentary;

The third posuk of our Parsha reads and emphasizes; “Tzedek, Tzedek tierdof…” Righteousness, righteousness (also rendered Justice, Justice) you shall pursue that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord, your G’d gives you.” (Sefer Devarim, Perek 16, posuk 20)

This posuk follows immediately after the opening of our Parsha; “Judges and officers shall you appoint in all of your cities — which Hashem …gives you — for your tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgement. You shall not pervert judgement, you shall not respect persons, neither take a bribe, for a bribe binds the eyes of the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous.” (Sefer Devarim, Perek 16, p’sukim 18-19) read more

Don’t the Gush Katif Refugees Deserve At Least the Consideration that The Knesset Gives the North?

‘People Have Forgotten About Us’, By Hillel Fendel (Israel National News)

The Speaker, Kadima MK Dalia Itzik, called this week upon the Government of Israel to declare the coming year the “Year of the North.” She said that tourism from abroad and from Israel should be encouraged to the Galilee and northern Israel.

Her words are representative of widespread national sympathy for the hundreds or thousands who were forced to flee the north during the recent war and seek alternate housing in hotels and dormitories or with relatives and friends. Itzik herself mentioned the “hundreds of thousands of good citizens who helped out the people of the north.” read more
